    Pros

Good benefits program, with tremendous 401K match. Good stewardship for environmental issues. Great people to work with and work for. Pleasant relaxed work environment.

    Cons

Slow decisions during tough times created a major rumor mill with deteriorated morale about downsizing. Seemed little accountability with brass, poor decisions had no consequences.

Wonderful people for the most part to work with. Family feeling with coworkers.

    Cons

Felt held back. All my skills were under utilized. Was promised work in one department and on the day I started was pushed into another.

    Advice to Management

Really appreciate what you have with you employees. Use their strengths to better the company.

I worked at EXCO Resources full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked with some of the best people in the industry.

    Cons

They moved our office to Dallas to consolidate.

    Advice to Management

Houston is the best place to be if you are in the O&G business. Houston offers a much better spectrum of knowledgeable and potential quality employees.

I worked at EXCO Resources full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Doug Miller does seem to genuinely want his employees to have a great career experience. Benefits were good. Workload was consistent.

    Cons

It grew too fast and many management and supervisor positions filled with less qualified people. The VP of Land allowed managers to get away with a lot of bad acting. Then in 2012 it shrunk too fast and so many good people had to leave - whether through the layoff or because they didn't trust EXCO to keep the doors open. The fact that no effort was made to keep good people was telling.

    Advice to Management

Actually work on cultivating good employees instead of rewarding 'warm bodies'.

I have been working at EXCO Resources full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most people are helpful and willing to teach and instruct.
    Yearly bonus and incentive bonus

    Cons

Attitudes of some are horrible, feel they are being picked on and carry that onto others

    Advice to Management

Need to keep all of the staff more in the loop of the security of their positions and of the company as a whole. Too secretive, which makes everyone on edge.

    Pros

A great company to work for with excellent benefits.

    Cons

Now that the company is struggling to survive due to oil and gas prices so low most employees are concerned about keeping their jobs. Opportunity for growth is limited.
