    Pros

Working with peers, like minded people, opportunities for the ambitious to advance quickly.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance and emphasis on hours spent instead of work accomplished or team atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked on some interesting engagements with great people. Culture is quite competitive, somewhat inclusive and flexible. Lots of opportunities and challenging work.

    Cons

While I enjoyed the work and being busy, there was definitely very little work life balance. Oftentimes busy season would last longer than expected.

    Advice to Management

Management seems to forget very quickly that they have been in our shoes not that long ago. The culture is very competitive and revenue driven, should pay more attention to people.

I worked at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great exposure to various types of business and processes. Good benefits and a well organized office (the one I was associated with). Good support from management.

    Cons

Not for the weak or those with a busy personal life. Geared toward the up and coming accounting professional with a lot of stamina and able to dedicate most of their waking hours to their job.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work on retention. Offer incentives to offset the workload. Clients do not appreciate having to retrain new audit staff every year.

I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working at EY is a great opportunity to learn. You see a lot of different companies, you learn how they operate, and you learn how to work with people in a variety of environments and cultures.

    Cons

    The hours are terrible
The work is tedious and repetitive
Management plans poorly for overlapping projects and blame staff for the resulting problems

    Advice to Management

Management needs to listen to employees when they come to them with problems. EY prides itself on hiring driven, intelligent people. That kind of person doesn't go to their boss saying they can't handle the workload they have unless they really can't.
be more transparent about internal processes, specifically transfers. establish a clear process and a way to guide those employees that do transfer through it. teach that to the people consultants.
