    Pros

EY provides me with great flexibility of when and where I would like to work. I always am learning more about the industries I work with which will in turn further my career.

    Cons

No surprise to anyone, the public accounting industry sometimes requires long hours and stress can build very easily.

    Pros

You develop a wide array of skills and experiences working as an auditor in a public accounting firm. You also get to learn about other companies and their business processes through auditing.

    Cons

Busy season can last anywhere from 3-6 months and the overtime hours can get long and hard to deal with depending on the client and the team.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people so that the employees do not have to work unreasonable number of hours without getting paid for overtime.

    Pros

Competitive and challenging environment, you will get out of the company what you put in to it. The focus of the culture in the day to day is around professional development and there are opportunities for weekly feedback from peers and managers.

    Cons

Depending on the market, there are opportunities to grow. Turn over is high in Public Accounting - there is a need for those who can roll with the punches and take on more work if needed by your team. Hard place to succeed if you think you know everything, always a chance to learn something new.

I have been working at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lofty goals of building a better working world

    Cons

Political ratings and promotions, underinvestment in training and development of new hires, compulsion to work a ton of hours that cannot be charged to client codes

    Advice to Management

Be more honest with your employees, especially around unrealistic growth estimates in the business. Don't tell people we're building a better working world because it's obvious we're just trying to make money.

I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are supportive of career goals and building and developing yourself. You work with many international people who have a global perspective and are very intelligent. EY partners are some of the most brilliant I have ever met and are open to meeting people of all different ranks. People are open to having you join their teams which helps you try new things and figure out exactly what you want. Consulting keeps you on your A-game in terms of preparing for interviews and keeping your resume up to date since you have to internally find a new project every few months so you can continue to grow and see different parts of the firm.

    Cons

Clients can shape your experience at the firm which can distort EY's image since you're at the client 24/7. Working with internal resources can be disappointing such as experience management who are responsible for assigning you onto your projects and can influence overall ratings. Compensation is a little below average for industry.

    Advice to Management

Treasure new talent and take time to foster growth inside of company
