I worked at EY as an intern (Less than a year)

    Cons

Few opportunities to connect with other interns

I worked at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall good company culture. Some practice are good with decent partners and great leadership. But the firm varies a lot across practices.

    Cons

Some practices like the program management practice are horrible. They lie to you in interviews that it's a strategic role while in truth it is a purely low grade administrative assistant role. Extremely selfish set of partners. Some are slimy, kiss up and kick down and they have been thriving. This is a career killer practice. Trust me...

    Advice to Management

If you want to retain EY culture, fire the leadership of PM practice.

    Pros

Ernst and young offers fair compensation in the consulting industry. Also the benefits provided are good. Progression opportunities were plentiful.

    Cons

The working hours were long and the job was quite demanding. There was significant travel required too.

    Advice to Management

Consider providing some work life balance and opportunities to switch between different verticals at Ernst and young.

I have been working at EY full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    1. Everyone in the office and company has been great.
    2. Good benefits and vacation days, unlimited sick days
    3. Stress free besides a couple times of the year.

    Cons

    1. When it's not busy season, it's hard to stay busy. Days drag.

    Advice to Management

Give more opportunities to advance, teach new skills during slow times, and spread out more work.

I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with - everyone is always bought into creating quality and submitting a total best effort with the deliverable.

    Cons

Little work-life balance at every level. Nights and weekends are more the rule than the exception and bonuses are basically non-existent.

I have been working at EY full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Idea is spot on - give Risk professionals experience in internal audit and IT audit
Benefits are good (wellness reimbursement, paid family leave for men/women, performance based bonuses after senior, flexible work arrangements, alternative weekend travel, cellphone reimbursement, by-meal travel reimbursement, etc.)

    Cons

    Travel can be taxing
    Clients can be difficult
Job may not have all of the aspects advertised as having.

    Advice to Management

Return perks of travel again. Actually provide IA and IT experiences to Risk Advisory Program employees

I worked at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great people to work with
    Variety of work
    Opportunities for travel
Exposure to a lot of different clients in a lot of different industries, along with a lot of exposure to high level decision makers
Always challenging you to be better and you have the opportunity to learn as much as you want
In my group, great managers and partners

    Cons

Work life balance, which everyone should know getting into this type of role
Travel- In my group, there was a decent amount of Sunday-Friday travel, which is a lot harder than Monday-Thursday, when it's week after week
Low pay for the amount of work you actually put in and poor 401k plan
Sometimes our clients would not pay for the level of expenses allowed in our expense policy and partners appeared to do little to challenge that

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work, but remember it's the little things that help Staff and Seniors keep going
