I worked at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have completed the 3 year internship as part of Chartered Accountant (CA), India coursework in Advisory Practice of EY.

The organization provides excellent avenues for Article Trainees to start a career in management consulting. One works full time like other BCom and BA (Economics) graduates who are employed at a Business Analyst level.

The firm also reimburses a part of your ICAI fees and gives your decent study leaves at par with prescribed by CA regulations.

An individual can work across industries and EY services offerings - internal audit, program management, strategy, performance improvement, financial risk management etc.

    Cons

None that I can think of. Though the work is challenging and demanding, the firm provides resources and support for a successful tenure.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the Work, and continue with the motto "Quality in Everything we Do"

I worked at EY (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great environment, flexible workplace, friendly people

    Cons

Stressful since they have a lot of 'meetups' that constantly remind you of your work despite its generally carefree environment; some engagement teams aren't so helpful or forgiving when it comes to new joiners

    Advice to Management

It would be better if we were given training on the audit frameworks especially the guides on how to properly utilize the online tools

    Pros

EY Advisory is one of the best practices to intern for a CA Article Trainee. The 3 years are career enriching. The EY traineeship is revered and rated as one of the best programs.

    (1) Internal networking and good performance allows one to experience engagements in both strategy consulting arm known "Business Advisory Services (BAS)" and risk consulting arm "Risk Advisory Services (RAS)". Industry sector mobility is also possible depending on relationships with directors / partners and available opportunities.

    (2) Good training programs, one can choose learning programs based on interests and career aspirations

    (3) Approachable and down to earth partners, directors and other leaders.. available to counsel, share experience and mentor trainees & graduates

    (4) Counselors and Managers are supportive of academic pursuits, ample leaves and programs like flexible timings, work from home etc. allows one to manage academics with work.

    (5) HR, IT and Administrative Support is of quality and quick round the clock to ensure client serving personnel hassle free focus on work & value delivery to clients.

    Cons

Personal Experiences ranges wide from extremely good to bad. It is primarily dependent on the team one joins, the internal understanding & working arrangements between team leaders & team members. Relationship with peers and seniors has considerable impact on job satisfaction, performance and work life balance.
