I have been working at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

All the partners I've worked with on deals have been very approachable and willing to teach you. Teams in TAS will generally try and work around vacation schedules in accommodate your needs. Deals are fast paced but you learn a lot and feel accomplished once the deal is complete.

    Cons

extremely unpredictable schedule. Once a deal goes through, it's full throttle and there are times when you need to travel immediately and change your personal plans. It's just part of the job.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up

I worked at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - You'll see a lot of different projects
    - You'll get exposure to people very high up in the company
    - You'll become much more business savvy (especially if recruited out of college)
    - They hire a lot of people straight out of school so you usually have a since of community if you're growing up in the company.

    Cons

    - Lots and lots and lots of hours
    - The experience is entirely dependent on how you get along with you team.
    - Since many people are hired straight out of school and never hold another job, they can lose touch with the way the rest of business works
    - No real appreciation of work life balance (unless, of course, your hobbies and family are somehow related to EY)

I worked at EY full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Worked in Valuation and Business Modeling subgroup out of school. Good exposure to high profile clients. Most people are nice to work with and somewhat flexible. Smaller engagement sizes you give you responsibility quickly. Learn valuation fundamentals and a lot of accounting. The rotation program is fantastic and allows you to work in other groups for 3 month periods.

    Cons

Doing SAS reviews for audit and tax team are a big pain. Formal structure makes advancement slower. Work can get repetitive. Busy season (Dec-March) can necessitate 70+ hour work weeks and pay will lag skills and hours.
