I have been working at Eagle Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great job, great work environment, nice people. The hours are good 50 plus a week.plenty of work. The pay is better than most companies out their.

    Cons

A lot of older equipment, and Hyundai trailers are garbage. That's it as far as cons go. We need a forklift at the shop.

    Advice to Management

Need the proper equipment to do the job, Indy needs a forklift very bad.

I have been working at Eagle Express full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Money can be very good, Puts you in motels when away.

    Cons

Pay breakdown sheet is not given, you have no idea what they forget to pay you if you don't track it. And they do forget a lot!! Reimbursements are not made soon enough. I had to pay for rental cars while out for 6 weeks and had to put it on my card. I didn't get paid for over a month due to man being on vacation that needed to approve. Too much time away, promise you will get home and don't follow though. Insurance and deductible very high.

    Advice to Management

Provide a breakdown of pay and get with the program.

I worked at Eagle Express full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Loved the people who worked there, other drivers, dispatchers, and office staff were wonderful to work with.

    Cons

New management wasn't really interested in people but more focused on earning big money. People and their families were really given much consideration.

    Advice to Management

Treat people better and they will want to do their best, and create a culture where drivers/emoloyees feel appreciated and that their opinions matter.

    Pros

    Enjoyed my time with Eagle..

    Cons

I did not have many issues working for them. Most managers are very busy and it may take some time to get a return call however if your protestant you will get to talk to someone.

I have been working at Eagle Express full-time

    Pros

Good insurance but very expensive for a family. All US Post Office holidays off if on that account.

    Cons

The tractors are very high mileage Volvo's with rusted doors and impossible to get anything other than minimum service performed if away from the Chicago terminal. The website is quite deceitful on what one may drive. Operations is distant and support is minimal. Repairs are a "patch and pray" at best. Extra pay is extremely difficult to get and management will treat you like a child. Impossible to move to other accounts or shifts regardless of written requests. Much easier to as a new employee to get what route you want. Time off is almost impossible and calling off is the only option which creates hardship on other drivers.

    Advice to Management

Provide equipment and support so we may do our jobs professionally. My current manager does not provide an environment where team work is warranted or even desired. In fact, it is discouraged as a threat to his/her position. These tractors are high mileage older equipment and need extra attention to keep them operating safely. I cannot think of one tractor in our local fleet that would pass a Level One inspection at this time.
