A Hearing Professional's Perspective
Apr 19, 2023 - Personal Hearing ProfessionalRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
As a hearing professional at Eargo, there is high reward. You can see the direct impact you have on both the client's and company's success. Eargo executives understand the crucial role a hearing professional plays in hearing aid success and satisfaction. Your schedule is flexible and an ideal work/life balance. I love the relationships I've built within the company - from R&D to marketing to customer service. It's incredible to see the work put in from all different perspectives for one greater goal - accessibility. You should come in knowing you're about to meet some passionate people!
Cons
As a fast growing company, you have to be comfortable with process change as we learn more and more about the OTC hearing aid landscape.

Pros
Culture is awesome, very inclusive. Management truly cares about your wellbeing and growth within the company. Lots of opportunity if you actually put in the work. Wonderful benefits and PTO package. Manageable workload in my department and always supported by upper management. Work from home available for certain positions. Competitive pay.
Cons
Lack of communication at times. Sometimes feels as if certain departments are not as in the know of the behind the scenes initiatives until they are implemented causing a bit of chaos for a short amount of time. This is always manageable though and quickly turned from chaos to productivity.

My job with Eargo is a dream come true! Working from home, but I am still part of a team. We work closely with one another to assist customers in determining if Eargo is good for them. Everyone from hiring, to On-boarding/People-Ops, HR, IT, Executive Team, Management to Co-workers has been helpful and supportive when needed. This is truly a great company to work with! 60 days in, we get a meet and greet with the CEO who was personable and made each one us new hires feel special and unique as well as an integral part of Eargo. Weekly meetings to keep us in the loop are short and sweet. This company values you as a person and understands that you have a life to live outside of work too. I would highly recommend Eargo if you are seeking new employment!

Pros
remote position. Work from home.
Cons
Upper management not helpful at all.

Pros
Eargo is an ecommerce company, even though they sell a healthcare product. There are some bright, hardworking and talented people in many departments. There are a lot of people to learn from. The pay is excellent. The human resources team is top notch. The company is driven to grow and is good at charting a plan.
Cons
Biggest con: Some of the leaders in the sales organization do not play well with others. I'm not sure how they can be so unprofessional and survive. I guess they get the sales numbers the company wants, but they rub-off on the PHG's and set a negative tone. Second biggest con: The company is old school in that they don't even pretend to believe in work/life balance.
