I worked at Earth Fare full-time

    Pros

High standards for food and Non-Gmo products. Friendly customers (for the most part) Great discount

    Cons

Grew to big too fast, ownership changed hands too many times to know who is leading the ship.

    Advice to Management

Pay the people that are doing the grunt work (in the stores) more.

I worked at Earth Fare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You will probably work with really cool people. Not the worst pay. It's nice to get discounts on weird fancy food. I like the atmosphere of the store a lot. Customers can be really cool/interesting.

    Cons

Not the best pay. Discounts have gotten less awesome. Management can be terribly disorganized. Some employees don't pull their weight. Customers can be really helpless/demanding.

    Advice to Management

Get organized. Pay folks more, and you will get people who do their jobs well and stick around.

I worked at Earth Fare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Growing company build on a great solid good culture. When I was there it was growing rapidly even when the rest of the food industry was hurting. I learned a lot from the team and was constantly being challenged.

    Cons

I left before the new leadership team cam on board, so I'm sure it's different now, but I felt stuck, like I couldn't move up any more, that no matter how hard I worked, I was at the the top of the ladder not because of my skills, because of the politics.

I worked at Earth Fare part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discount, can move up or around in the store relatively easily due to high turnover.

    Cons

Definitely more focused on profits than employees. Management sits on a "high horse". You have to fight for the raises you are told you will be getting.

    Advice to Management

Give people their raises when you tell them they will be getting one. Don't make the employee go through hoops to get it.

    Pros

    Coworkers, customers, discount on groceries

    Cons

Lower pay than competitors i.e. Whole Foods, Trader Joes

    Advice to Management

Pay your cashiers at least $12 an hour if you want them to stick around and have good moral. Their attitude about work will directly reflect to the customer what type of business earth fare is.
