    Pros

Hospital is pretty if it is cleaned

    Cons

Administration and management at all levels are truly flawed. This has been the worst work environment I have ever encountered. The administration/management/director team are constantly pointing out what everyone does wrong but no one provides adequate staffing or solutions to fix problems. If staff comes up with a solution to an issue, it is quickly dismissed. Many members of management are arrogant, rude, unprofessional, and insulting. No chance of advancement. Horrible retention rates. Poor benefits. Administration, management and HR do not know how to effectively manage staff complaints or concerns or make staff feel appreciated. Instead, you feel your job is in jeopardy.

    Advice to Management

Replace the current administration, managers, and directors with people that have a positive vision for patient care, not just profit and reaping the benefits of a 'special' title. Treat your employees with respect. People are leaving because of treatment received from the nursing administrators/directors, HR, and managers. Don't ignore staff concerns or reprimand or terminate an employee because they voice concern, especially patient safety concerns. WORK to change the culture....it is the culture among administrators and management that is responsible for the horrible retention rate. Employees leave their boss, not their job.

    Pros

Excellent team, small hospital compared to others in the area. Accountability of staff to each other and patients.

    Cons

Management doesn't seem to have any interest in promoting excellent and safe patient care. Private for profit hospital and you can tell. Constant staffing issues. Changing executives on a regular basis, making culture and values change often.

    Advice to Management

Spend some time on the front lines and appreciate the staff members who make you look good.

    Pros

The patients are delightful and it is located in a beautiful community and the hospital is extremely clean. The "associates" care about the patients.

    Cons

Lack of accountability. Management does not get any leadership training. Education and communication are sorely lacking from the units all the way to the 'home office"

    Advice to Management

Build processes that stay past the very short length of time of employment for anyone on the "A team." Pay for orientation and education. Not only will you have better employees but they will feel valued and stay.
