    Pros

Mario's has an all-star team of employees that really is like a family. There is definitely an open-door policy company-wide and everyone respects one another. The principles that Mario has built the company on are something to be proud of and the community truly respects the company. A small company allows everyone to learn a lot about each division and have a well-rounded knowledge of everyone's role. Great benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and a retail discount is great compared to other retail companies. Option for 401(k) contribution and flex spending account.

    Cons

Talented team of individuals that is not compensated as well as they should be. The compensation is nowhere near up to par with similar roles in other companies and there is not an annual review for a raise (must pursue on your own).

    Advice to Management

If management paid employees at a reasonable rate there would not be a high turnover, everyone would want to stay. Also, should branch out to new customer base so as to break the barrier that the company is snobby.

  6. "Line Cook"

    I worked at East Side Mario's part-time

    Pros

    - Can be laid back sometimes
    - Sometimes get to work with great people
    - Free food on occasion
    - Flexible work hours
    - Tip out on the weeks you don't get paid

    Cons

    - Management can be very disorganized and power trip, I've had a manager yell demeaning things to me on occasion
    - High turnover rate, within less than 6 months most if not all of the people that were there initially were gone
    - Often end up working longer hours than you're scheduled for. Usually because you're covering for someone who walked out that day

    Advice to Management

Value your employees. Most of them are young and when you bully them it creates a hostile work environment.

I worked at East Side Mario's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great staff and management
    Good hours
Always lots to do/keep busy with
    Good tips
    50% food during shifts

    Cons

The all you can eat menu makes it exhausting to constantly be running back and forth between the kitchen and all your tables to get them more soup, salad, bread, and wings
Booking time off isn't an option during busy times of year
Can't use your phone even in the back and if you do then your coworkers will tell your manager on you and get you in trouble

    Advice to Management

Don't be so strict on your employees with the small stuff especially if you know they're a hard worker

    Pros

    - Fun environment
    - Networking with other students
    - Flexible hours
    - Discounted food

    Cons

    - Harsh work at times
    - Disorganized management
    - Difficulty booking time off
    - length of work hours per day are hard to predict
    - Allot of work for minimum wage

    Advice to Management

Manage was better before the purchase of the second location. Better run when the owner was around to keep things in order as oppose to the owners husband who just had his friends come and eat all the time.
