I worked at East West Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you work in the corporate office or the new branch location, it seems to be a lot more approachable, friendly and up to date. Everything felt brand new, training was offered to everyone.

    Cons

Trainers needed an update, one trainer was not professional when he got frustrated with the group who didn't understand. Extremely old school and backwards if you work in a branch location. Other employees don't value you team work, and will be straight forward to let you know that they don't get paid enough to collaborate with you.
A lot of the employees were extremely negative, micro-management, and passive Managers who wouldn't address negative behavior.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to be upfront with your employees. Morning huddles would be great, along with ice breakers for the whole team in the entire branch.

    Pros

Progressive company, the leader at bridging the US and Asia, very good benefits and 401k package. Very personal and seem to care about their employees.

    Cons

Significant change. There is talk about outsourcing the information technology department and others out of the US. May be positioning to acquire or sell.

    Advice to Management

    Keep employees informed.

I have been working at East West Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stable, no over time (work life balance is not bad) and medical benefit (including dental, vision) is good. Growing company.

    Cons

Office politics is insane. Good people keep leaving the bank, which is not surprised since it is not fair if hardworking people not been recognized. In some region, management only promotes people they like no matter what. Very little career advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

    Treat employee fairly.
