I worked at East West Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good location in the heart of Pasadena

    Cons

Likes and dislikes determine how your career progresses. Chief Talent Officer is a joke who doesn't understand human resources for banking industry and kept bragging his experience at Avery Dennison - which was years ago (please.. it's not relevant anymore and people are tired listening to your not-so-impressive experience there). The Chief Talent Officer is very "heavy" on likes and dislikes not based on work performance but based on whoever can kiss bottom. People who actually do the work but quiet do not get credit deserved. HR department has high turnover and those who stayed for a while are those who kiss bottom so they received promotion, title and massive salary increase every year without actual achievement in performance.

    Advice to Management

Please audit HR department practices, the bank should change its Chief Talent Officer.

I worked at East West Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company offers great benefits (401K, pension, stock purchase, life insurance, dental, vision, health). East West Bank is a stable company and continues to grow every year. Yearly bonuses and salary raises are given. Management tries hard overall to lusten to your needs and EWB accomodates personal needs very well.

    Cons

Slow systems vs production demands makes production improvement harder.

    Advice to Management

Improve operational systems to enable employees to meet requested improvements in production.

    Pros

Nice offices, friendly faces, the headquarters in Pasadena is nice because you have City Hall right outside your window so it's quiet and clean.

    Cons

Work-life balance is not good. If you're young and looking for a fun, innovative and creative environment to work in, don't work here.

I have been working at East West Bank full-time

    Pros

Good healthcare benefits only reason I stay.

    Cons

Too much expected from top management with little in return. No overtime, so employees are made to clock out and work off the clock, but cannot complain to HR or HR will deny.
No balance or time for personal life. Unprofessional

I have been working at East West Bank (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very nice people, equal opportunities are given to all individuals. Promotions are based on performance not seniority. Good stepping stone for new graduates who wants to be in the financial industry.

    Cons

Terrible work/life balance. Below market pay. Employees are expected to play multiple roles. Exempt employees working overtime everyday is a normal routine. Rumor said some non-exempt employees who is on a time card are asked to clock out at the end of the day but continue working after hours (no overtime pay).

    Advice to Management

Some employees don't mind playing multiple roles or working extended hours but pay needs to be better across all "non-producers, non-management" employees.
