I worked at EastBay Concepts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Freedom to find and follow up on places on your own.
-Reimbursement for the government mileage rate.
-They strive to force a positive environment.
    - motivational talks in the morning.

    Cons

-The office is located in Walnut Creek. If your territory is in Milpitas, they still require you to "check in" at Walnut Creek in the morning before you head out and at the end of the day. This is very difficult for someone who lIves in Livermore. They call the job "sales" but this is not a real sales position.
-they try and push you to become a leader position. I found out this means nothing but required after work meetingso that are unpaid to discuss thinks that could be tasked about during normal working hours.
-Everyone in the upper management preaches false hope to young or gullible people

    Advice to Management

Pumping up people with positivity is great but it would be nice to keep it more real with the employees on what to expect from the job. Not everyone is going to make all this money like you make it seem, especially right away.

I have been working at EastBay Concepts part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

30% off of all Footlocker stores

    Cons

Management plays favorites, minimum wage with small and infrequent raises, 99% of coworkers have no idea what they are doing, horrible hours, almost impossible to get off work the days that you need.

    Advice to Management

If you pay a little bit more then you will have much more qualified applicants and your turnover rate won't be so ridiculously high.

    Pros

    Nice employees
that is about all i can say about this company. you're in there at this terrible job with nice people who are in the same trench warfare with you

    Cons

    Everything!
    no reimbursement of gas
    no pay
it was a terrible decision to work here!!!
DONT WORK HERE PLEASE!! I AM WARNING YOU!!

    Advice to Management

close up shop, quit scamming people, quit being d-bags who are pushing unrealistic quotas on to your employees. get a life...working harder doesn't mean sacrificing your personal life to make a few pennies. i made more money delivering pizzas part time than i did working here 50 hours a week. in fact not working at all, you would make more money. DON'T FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM!! IF A COMPANY SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...ITS CRAP!! don't look for a job where they are willing to train you from "entry Level" to upper management in less than a year...that is a scam! real companies make you work for many years and aren't in a rush to promote you (sad but true)

    Pros

If you sell a lot you make kind of decent money but that does not happen often. People are nice and friendly.

    Cons

Door to door. Waste of gas and no reimbursement. Almost everything is negative. No sells no money whatsoever. No stability.

    Advice to Management

Get more benefits and be fair with the contribution. This guys are barely legal. Not hire just everyone who walks through the door.

    Pros

    -Fun Atmosphere
    -Many younger people
    -consistent positive thinking
    -support from co workers
-everyone here really seems to be really dedicated to this job.

    Cons

    -Very limited benefits,
-you have to use your own vehicle (hey! gas prices are high not to mention the maintenance)
-meetings twice a week that usually went to 8 pm; which is late after driving around all day going door to door trying to sell stuff, go to a meeting, drive back home and have to be there at 7 AM the next day
    -Commission only
-pep talks with unrealistic goals for the day for most people.
-You still have to be in a suit everyday, any type of weather, try finding decent shoes to fit the attire while still being able to walk around to 100 businesses a day and not come limping back to the office.
-Having to drive out to the office, then to your territory an hour away, pay a bridge toll, drive all the way back to the office, go to a meeting, then go home. Wish they would've told me this real scenario before I was hired. They pump this job up to seem great but they forget the daily details which isn't fair.
-Door to door, everyday, rain or shine, that is all you do here

    Advice to Management

I have to agree with the previous post, Higher base pay and/or pay for gas. Even though it might scare potential employees away, say what a realistic day is like, don't have people act what to say during the interview process; they will just end up learning the hard way and feel like they have wasted their time.

    Pros

    Friendly atmosphere
You get to wear street clothes on the job
The hours are good for the job
You get rewarded for outstanding work
    Easy job

    Cons

Some customers can get really pissed off
Not exactly the most flexible hours
    Can occationally become stressful
Don't do this job if you can't take stress

    Advice to Management

You guys do a great job at keeping the employees happy and satisfied while on the job. Cold spots and Hot spots are amazing when someone needs off or is looking for hours. Rewards for perfect calls are awesome.

give some salary (300 isnt a salary) or at least pay gas, these are the people that determine whither or not you make money today
