I worked at Eastern Research Group, Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Strong support for employees, interest in employee growth, well-organized. Most senior employees have been there for 15-20 years or more, and are personally invested in the company's growth and reputation.

    Cons

Your work-life balance depends on what team you are on - I had great managers and our team (economic analysis) was fast-paced but the work was manageable. Some other teams had more work than they could handle.

I have been working at Eastern Research Group, Inc. full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great office culture in terms of professionalism, collaboration, and mutual respect. Work-life balance is about as good as it gets for a consulting setting. Company sincerely values its employees and recognizes their contributions to projects.

    Cons

The work environment can require a lot of personal flexibility. Someone looking for a steady schedule could have a tough time adjusting to to the ebb and flow that clients' needs inevitably pose on weekday evening and weekend schedules.

  4. "Laid back atmosphere, great benefits"

    Pros

three weeks vacation to start, 4 weeks after 2 years, great health plan, and flexible schedule. As long as you get 80 hours in every 2 weeks, they don't care what hours you work.

    Cons

only 6 paid holidays a year, but 4 weeks vacation helps make up for that. Dealing with government rules can also be a pain.

    Advice to Management

My salary reviews aren't really consistent. Usually I'll get a raise once a year in my paycheck, but never actually get a review. Maybe that isn't a bad thing?

I have been working at Eastern Research Group, Inc. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule is a huge plus. Giving employees the option to tailor their schedule to their commutes, family obligations (within reason) is amazing. People are very nice to work with.

    Cons

Sometimes flexible schedules can cause a bit of disorganization within a group. Seems hard to advance in this company, and promotions aren't all that meaningful.

    Pros

Quality of life focus and huge degree of flexibility make ERG a great place to work. The people are friendly, professional and talented. You can make your own way and be successful at ERG by doing good work and taking the initiative.

    Cons

The flexible work environment can be tough for some people who like a career path mapped out for them or don't take the initiative to "make" their own career. A high degree of personal responsibility and self management is necessary on the part of employees.
