I have been working at Easterseals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible, competitive pay for the field. Constantly trying to improve for the services provided & for employees. Great training and education programs for advancement. Challenging but rewarding

    Cons

Non profit organization, so raises are inconsistent and not significant increase. Job is challenging and work is always needed. Easily overworked, or burnout.

    I worked at Easterseals full-time

    Pros

Potential to an incredible service for disabled individuals within the community.

    Cons

Unfortunately it is not. Mismanagement of residential programs in Manchester is overlooked due to lack of funding. The staff can be rude and borderline verbally abusive to one another (rarely to clients). The environment set up in these residential programs are reminiscent of high school cliques. Bullying extends beyond staff within program but from the nurse in charge of the Manchester res. program. Incredibly unprofessional. Many agencies know this to be true which makes listing working here on my resume almost embarrassing, often having to explain my experience. Many staff with write off the turn over rate by saying "It takes a special type of person to work in this kind of field". Implying that the individuals are difficult to work with. This is not the case, it takes a special type of clique like behavior to work at this job. The individuals have little to nothing to do with turn over.

    Advice to Management

Allocate funds correctly and hire staff that is qualified and pay them more. Remove staff that push out employees who are good at their jobs just because they may have made a bad first impression (personally have seen this happen dozens of times).
Focus on building a professional community and pay for travel time.

    I worked at Easterseals full-time

    Pros

Hours are great. Pay is good

    Cons

The word clicky comes to mind however I was corrected and told it was worse than that. Ethical and boundary issues with staff and depending on who it is that does the offense determines what happens.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to learn that bullying is not acceptable. Farnam Center is more for the money than it is client care
