I worked at Eastman Kodak (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There was a certain kick backness of working there, and it was possible to have real dialog with my immediate department Manager - he took me to a nice lunch to talk.

    Cons

My Manager said he could do nothing about the real bottle-neck in our digital effects pipeline "could not be allowed to fail" even given he barely showed up to work as time went on. He was I learned, a protected employee. I was not ... "worst management" I have ever experienced, quoting from tech director Guy A.

    Advice to Management

    Replace the whole lot

I worked at Eastman Kodak full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, fair pay. over all great company if they knew a little more of how their team really works behind their backs.

    Cons

Favoritism, people who have worked there long term try and run all the new hires off. They succeed every time due to being wrapped around the long time supervisors finger. Extremely unprofessional place to work. If you don't kiss the senior operators feet they will run and tell that they do not like you therefore your days are numbered. I have seen great people suffer from this. Its too bad because its the senior people who are costing the company money . Never in all my years in the work force have I seen people be treated so unfairly due to this.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at some of the staff you have had for several years who have used and abused your systems. They are like snakes in the grass. I bet if you made one change with your Supervisor team you would see one heck of a difference.

I have been working at Eastman Kodak full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work independence, work from home when not at customer site, company car, some flexibility with work hours.

    Cons

While the pay is somewhat fair.., somewhat, there is little if no opportunity for raises once you reach your ceiling. The company is not always on a stable foundation and there is always a worry that another downsizing is in the horizon. No opportunity to move up. No school tuition reimbursement program. It's not the Kodak of old.., It's fingers are on a thin ledge.

    Advice to Management

From my limited viewpoint.., it appears that mistakes from the past are continued to be made.., Not enough sales people.., so not enough sales. Stagnant pay increases but I'm pretty sure the C Level get more than their share for the weak performance of this company. Even when management touts the gains of a quarter.., it's weak when compared to companies that are equal in size & scope of Kodak. I wouldn't recommend anyone to work for this company given the unknown environment of profitability of Kodak.
