I worked at Eastman Machine Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You’ll gain loads of real life work experience along with the ability to travel the world.

    Cons

NONE of your travel in voluntary. You will be forced to leave home the day before a early am flight. It’s a family owned company so expect a lot of cliques on your way to the top.

I worked at Eastman Machine Company

    Pros

None. The pay was low, the shop was hot, and my coworkers were miserable and angry people.

    Cons

I was bullied from the moment I started until I got frustrated and quit. I got zero assistance or support and had tools stolen from me. When I asked someone for help, I got, "sorry man... I don't know what yo tell you...". I told the Senior VP and was ignored. At least the company's legal counsel was interested in my experience there. Also, every manual mill and lathe was broken.

I worked at Eastman Machine Company full-time

    Pros

Small size allows for a lot of interaction with colleagues. It also means you may wear many different hats, which I found as a plus sometimes. Great learning environment. Their age has put them in a position of old processes, so they have opportunities for improvement at every turn. Yet their market is so unique and their name is so recognized that they can afford some extra time to adapt new methodology.

    Cons

Probably a bit under staffed and haven't converted many old processes.

  9. Helpful (1)
