I worked at Eastman as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Big on safety training and review. They really care about their people.

    Cons

Working as a contractor already they saw no reason to bring me on so try to get hired as an employee because I was already "filling the spot".

    Advice to Management

If you have long term contractors doing a good job, consider them for employment.

I have been working at Eastman as an intern

    Pros

Safety oriented company. Great pay. Good people. A lot of time off.

    Cons

Have to watch what you say around people because some get offended. Operators don’t have enough input. Shift work takes getting used to, some people like it some don’t.

    Advice to Management

Give operations more control over what happens at the plant. Fix problems instead of quick fixes, and along with that, don’t tell operators to be safe in meetings then tell them to rig up something for production in the field. Either be for safety and doing things right or don’t. Give operations more opportunities to move up in the company.
