Nice people, interesting work, great quality of life

    Pros

Eastman has values that align with my own. The compensation is competitive, especially considering the low cost of living in Eastern Tennessee. Eastman emphasizes work-life balance and allows a flexible work schedule (for most roles). Everyone is friendly and helpful and the company provides an atmosphere that values teamwork.

    Cons

As a young person, Eastern Tennessee was not the first location that came to mind when I thought of where I would be working, but the benefits and experiences you get working for Eastman make it worth it.

    Great people and great culture.

    Pros

Paid a lot more than average, especially considering the location. Not expected to work over 40 hours per week and work/life balance is valued. Couldn't find better people to work with and I really like Kingsport and Johnson City. Eastman is doing some really exciting and innovative stuff to help solve the plastic crisis our generation is facing.

    Cons

Upper UPPER management values shareholder earnings over continuous improvement and employee salaries (raises have been delayed 2 years in a row to meet cash flow goals). However, safety is not compromised, which is nice.

Friendly coworkers and relatively stress-free atmosphere with somewhat disappointing compensation.

    Pros

The company has a very good work environment. Coworkers are friendly, approachable, and helpful. There is a good work/life balance with most managers understanding you have a life outside the office.

    Cons

The pay seems to be lower than the industry average especially considering the site's close proximity to Houston.

    Great place to work!

    Pros

Eastman is a great place to work. I find the work/life balance to be a huge factor as well as the upward mobility and growth efforts.

    Cons

The only con I can think of is the decision processes are sometimes slow and lengthy. Decisions have to travel through the chain of command so this is understandable.

Rewarding and fulfilling career in a beatiful area!

    Pros

The Eastman culture is one of the biggest assests of the company. People come to work here and stay here for decades because of the culture. Everyone is nice and helpful and we get to contribute to a company that is dedicated to sustainability and balancing work and life. There are also wonderful opportunities for training and travel.

    Cons

Distance from large cities, air travel from local airport means a connection to everywhere you want to go.

    Solid company to work for

    Pros

Competitive salary and decent benefits. Stable company with a lot of opportunity for moving around. The people are great. Lots of opportunity for training. Great work/life balance depending on your job and the four 9's and a 4 work schedule is nice.

    Cons

Eastman used to promote people and move people around faster, but now both of these processes can be slow. Despite record breaking performance, promotions and bonuses are mediocre. The salaray is attractive, but when you look at overall compensation, it does not look as great. They have recently changed the ranking system, which is leading the culture away from the collaborative, teamwork environment to more of a competitive environment. Although there are a lot of job opportunities within Eastman, management seems to make decisions for you on where you get moved, rather than talking to you about where you want to move.

    We are in this together.

    Pros

Eastman is a highly ethical company and there is comfort in knowing that you will not be asked to do something that is questionable as well as knowing you can discuss concerns at any level of management. Also, the diversity in assignments enables employees to gain expertise and grow personally.

    Cons

Long hours and struggle for work/life balance depending on position. Maybe it is the larger roles given cost measure from prior years during the recession or the full swing growth activities, regardless, still difficult. Also, seems the compensation is still in the recession mode.

Working at Eastman as a Lab technician for more than two years, I feel happy and enjoy myself there.

    Pros

The working environment is relaxed at Eastman and you won't feel highly pressured there. Eastman's culture and values to make you have a balance of work and life is what I appreciated.

    Cons

I think Eastman should have more Chinese technical or commercial files not only for internal use but also for our local customers to have a better understanding for our business,
