    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Eaton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pays well.. Everyone will be loaded 150%.. be it managers or individual contributors... So, your plate is always full. You can interpret it as more opportunities to learn and improve. Relevant training for employees on people manager path.

    Cons

Nasty office politics in Eaton Pune's office. Your career depends on the feedbacks given by every one around you, and people use feedbacks as a tool to get things done the way they want. Even though Eaton relatively pays well, you will be expected to do work of almost 2 people and you may not even be recognized for your contribution. You will always feel the need to sell what you have done to highlight your achievement. Eaton is the right company for you if you are an extrovert and like to brag about whatever little you have done. They may give you good hike at the time of joining but may not give you hike next year - different rules for people joining in same months but in different years- one gets a hike another one does not. The system and processes are not mature and for everything you will have to follow up. I also feel that system and management are favorable to people from Pune/Maharashtra region.

    Advice to Management

Get away with some of your managers who are there by the virtue of being from Pune/Maharashtra. They are creating havoc by using feedbacks as a tool to harass and scare employees.

"Beware of the managers and never join as contract employee!!"

Former Contractor - Associate in Pune City (India)
    Approves of CEO

I worked at Eaton as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work that i was doing was good and i loved working on that project.
The managers in the US are very sincere, appreciative, encouraging and strict at the same time which is very much required for a professional to improve and learn better.
The facilities provided such as pick and drop, canteen area, food coupons, time to time activities are good and helps you to be relaxed.

    Cons

Favoritism is practiced by almost all the managers (in aerospace especially).
The managers in the Pune office are not at all professional, they take everything personally and then want to take revenge from the employees.
They doesn't believe in strengthening the employees and want the employees to be always afraid of them.
If you really want to grow here you will have to jump into all the politics going on here or else you should just leave.
And if you are a contract employee you will never be appreciated by the Indian managers no matter how sincerely you are working unless you are their favorite.

    Advice to Management

The management in US should not blindly trust the managers here in India. They should try to be aware of what is happening here with the employees.
Because of favoritism many of the good employees who just wanted to work hard and rise with with the organisation have already left or are in process of leaving.
As employee satisfaction and growth is a major pillar that contributes in the strong foundation of any organisation and plays a key role in its success.
