    *Hard to advance, but that's finance
    *willingness to inovate can be hard, mainly because its a very traditional company

    Pros

    Great work life balance, low turnover, extremely intelligent people. You learn a lot and as much as you want to learn. Company is growing fast.

    Cons

    Company is fragmented, no cooperation between investment teams, salary is about 30% below industry averages. Can be tough to move up.

    Advice to Management

    Think about restructuring to look more like how most AM firms look like.

    I worked at Eaton Vance (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good people. A nice work/life balance. Management is extremely bright. All around a great place to be. Positive environment.

    Cons

    There was not a lot of room for growth. As a young person I felt I had to look outside the firm to continue to grow.

    Advice to Management

    The management team is great. They have a great group of leaders helping run the co, putting EV in a good position moving forward.

    - Office is close to the seaport.
    - 35 hour work week for most of the year.

    A good place to learn the basics of the investment management world, especially the retail model they have used for many years.

    The firm has been successful over many years and there are many employees who have spent their entire career there.

    Spend some time understanding why people leave your firm and what you can do to build a culture that makes people feel valued and appreciated.
