I worked at Ebix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Looks great on the surface

    Cons

Pay, management, politics, knowledge of actual processes

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees, acknowledge those who try, get rid of dead weight.

I have been working at Ebix full-time

    Pros

It's a paycheck, but compensation is very poor by comparison.

    Cons

Overall rating should be ZERO stars. HR is horrendous. Financial reporting is sketchy. The company sells very little, particularly in the US.

    Advice to Management

    Lawyer up.

I worked at Ebix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is an aesthetically pretty company on the outside with their amenities and the inside decor.

    Cons

They spend all their money on making the outside and inside look very nice but they do not care or pay their employees well. They have not spent any time on any of the inside amenities as we were promised such as a cafeteria, break room and gym. They build all this outside equipment that we have no time to use so it's pointless. There is way too much work put on us and we are not compensated well enough for it. There is a horrible lack of training and a very high turnover because nobody wants to deal with that lack of respect from the higher managers.

    Advice to Management

invest in a training class that will be productive to the call center and the rest of the employees. Don't put all this work on one person and expect this to finish it ALL in one day. Treat your employees with respect and treat us like human beings.

I have been working at Ebix full-time

    Pros

Health plan. Understanding lower MGMT. Nice casual environment.

    Cons

Salaries far below average, no raises, no bonuses. Pitiful retirement benefits. No investing in employees

    Advice to Management

Too much competition in this world to think that everyone is replaceable.

    I worked at Ebix full-time

    Pros

The only good thing about working here is the feeling you get when you don't have to work here anymore.

    Cons

Completely inept management all around. No room to advance in the company. Horrid HR if that's what you want to call it.

    Advice to Management

Good thing you are a manager at this place because you'd never make it elsewhere. Get some training...you need it.

I worked at Ebix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Zero. If you are considering working at this company you are nuts.

    Cons

Lack of policies. Lack of professionals. Lack of ethics. Lack of a clue on appropriate comp. Shrinking number of clients, bad reputation in the industry.
I worked there only through an acquisition and would never consider such a company otherwise.

    Advice to Management

It is obvious that you grow through acquisition but cannot manage your way out of a box operationally. You need to grown top line revenue not through lay offs. Your best bet for long-term sustainability is to let someone purchase you.

    I worked at Ebix full-time

    Pros

It was a job when I needed one.

    Cons

I have never worked for such a company. HR is a joke - there is not one iota of concern about well-being, professionalism, salary, career paths or anything else. Good people are denigrated or ignored. Accounting is a nightmare - incorrect billings and improper revenue recognition are so prevalent that it's scary. No processes in place, overlapping authorities (with none willing to make a decision or commitment), poor or non-existent tools, unwillingness to purchase those tools ("sure Robin, I can find some shareware somewhere....."), failure to promote or pay good people, failure to pay commissions to those that have earned them all make this a nightmare of a company to work for.

    Advice to Management

Buy a clue: at least start looking at Glassdoor and taking these reviews seriously. The complaints are common in almost every thread.

I worked at Ebix full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Consistent Salary
    Amazing Co-Workers (While they last)

    Cons

Retaining customer base is not a priority.
Very few raises, not even cost of living increases.(But acquire more and more companies)
Not willing to keep good workers, everyone is expendable.
    Management has their own agenda.
HR does not communicate well with ANY department.
    Employees have no voice.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, look at their strengths, and give them opportunities to advance. You have some good employees left, you should try to hold on to them because other companies offer so much more!

    I worked at Ebix full-time

    Pros

    Good coffee
    Casual dress
    Parking

    Cons

They literally do not care about the employees.
Will hire you as "Customer service" and it's not. It's mostly data entry.
Temp to hires are almost never kept for permanent.
Will let people go without explanation

    Advice to Management

Don't hire temp people only to keep them for a month or less and not bother to give them a decent notice.
