    Pros

Free soda to keep you going on a sugar high

    Cons

Far commute. Company moved from Mid Town to Johns Creek and gave employees very little information about the move. All flexibility has been taken away. Skeleton crew left and those that stayed are not appreciated.

    Advice to Management

None...they do not listen to the employees so what is the point

I worked at Ebix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great health benefits package.

    Cons

    - Office morale is terrible. Internal champions for the company are impossible to find outside of upper management (who I don't believe realize that there's an issue there).

    - Promotions (unless you count getting more responsibility with no increase in salary) are rare to non-existent. As a whole, the company doesn't invest in the knowledge or advancement of its employees.

    - Distrust of upper management. Most seen as mouthpieces for the CEO.

     - Planning is extremely difficult. Expenses, whether $5,000 or $50, go to the CEO for approval. Most times approval depends on what kind of mood he's in and can take weeks.

     - The CEO appears to "average" employees as very ego driven (showing an actual mosaic of his face on a company video should help with that though).

     - Attrition: Key department managers and SMEs are leaving the company at an unbelievable pace. One of two things is happening: Either upper management sees this issue and is failing to respond accordingly or, even worse, they don't realize it. Either is extremely troubling for employees.

    Advice to Management

Let your department managers manage. Ebix could be better.
    Reward proven employees.

    Pros

    Some people are friendly here.

    Cons

Company do not have a program for training. You are expected to learn everything on your own and it is all propriety software. Very high demand from employees. We easily work 60hrs a week or more. when we complain to manager, he say we are not working efficiently. Every single person on team have same complain of too much work for one person. The manager expect you to get all your work done even if it mean you have to work from home and cut family time. You are paid salary, so no over time. Senior manager only care to he look good to upper management and will sink his employee to do so. So if you thinking to work here, try to talke to some employee first. Tell hiring manager you want to talk to team members on the team you will work with before you take job. Although workers are nice to each other, a lot of back stabbing happens. Most people who is working here cannot find another job, but as soon as they find something else, they are gone. No room to grow in company. Lots of fake promise.

    Advice to Management

Be careful your clients find out about the work atmosphere for the employees.

I have been working at Ebix full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good clients, good admin team.

    Cons

Ebix shows great interest to acquire new companies but doesn't know what to do with those companies after acquisition. They had a plan to sell the company for making but it didnt work out, so now they are just running the company.

Every employee gets same treatment, doesn't recognize who is is contributing and who is not. Not matter how many efforts you put that does matter to any one. No one cares. Very bad management, middle management is absolutely powerless directionless and have no idea where they are going what they are doing.

Be prepared to work for same salary for ages and for no promotions.

    Advice to Management

Dont just acquire companies, acquire only if you can do some thing with them.

    Pros

Great people to work with. Robin is easy to work with once you realize what he is about.
    Decent pay.

    Cons

    my immediate boss was poor
sometimes felt there was no focus
    very little room for growth.
Office politics seems more important than moving the company forward.

    Advice to Management

A quote comes to mind: If both of us agree all the time one of us isnt necessary"

I worked at Ebix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

One of the pros of working with Ebix is that there are some truly talented employees. Unfortunately, most of them are with the company through acquisitions Ebix makes and they end up leaving once they realize that working for Ebix means that there is no longer room for career growth, raises, etc.

    Cons

Executives and people in leadership roles are incapable of making decisions or presenting a clear direction for the company- much less all of the divisions and products that fall under Ebix. The company is constantly making acquisitions but never spends money on R&D, proper staffing, or Marketing. This leads to a lot of frustration internally and an extremely high turnover rate. Also, the office culture in Sandy Springs is terrible. Employees are forced to 'sign in' and 'sign out' like Kindergarteners and management is more focused on whether you are sitting at your desk (god forbid you go to lunch or the bathroom!) than they are about whether you are getting work done and meeting/exceeding your goals.

    Advice to Management

Nurture the talent that you have instead of constantly hiring from the outside. Hire better leadership. Have better communication with employees regarding the status of the company, earnings, new products rolling out, etc. Everyone is always in the dark unless a press release is issued. Spend money on R&D & hire more people for product development. The current product offering across the board is stagnant and needs a refresh. Hire more people in Marketing & a VP of Marketing to lead them. There are literally 3 people working in Marketing which makes absolutely NO sense for a company the size of Ebix.
