I have been working at EchoStar full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They are a decent company to work for

    Cons

They don't seem to care that Utah has lots of places that are willing to pay more money than them.

    Advice to Management

Consider putting more money into your Utah employees. It is a competitive market right now, you have lost people because your pay and benefits are less competitive.

I worked at EchoStar full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work life balance, people, decent pay.

    Cons

Organizational. Some people had a lot to do, some none. And managers always seemed pretty oblivious to that. A lot of no integrity employees were able do do very little real work.

    Advice to Management

    Organize.

I have been working at EchoStar full-time

    Pros

Always working on new technologies. The work is challenging and they are in a continual shift in thinking on how to build technology efficiently

    Cons

Benefits are adjusting each year, but probably not fast enough with the industry.

    Advice to Management

Look to reinvent themselves on how they build software as most of the company is old school with how they approach building software as it can cause slowness to market

I have been working at EchoStar full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary, work life balance, nice people, fun product to work on, managers were all very approachable and supportive.

    Cons

Facilities are not the best, very few job "perks", many onsite contractors can create a frustrating work experience due to turn over, management not always organized.

    Advice to Management

Put more of an emphasis on creating a fun, creative environment. The office space where I worked was a bit gloomy. Improving company culture could go a long ways.
