I worked at Eckerd College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Understanding bosses, schedule flexibility, above min. wage hourly salary and being paid every 2 weeks.

    Cons

Not much to report as I was only a student worker on campus so didn't have to do certain things that a full time salaried worker would have to do.

    Advice to Management

All I can say is maybe increase the hourly wage? To be honest, that is the best improvement I can think of as other than that my experience was good. I learned so much.

    Pros

I work in IT and this is by far the best culture for support staff. Highly appreciative for every time that you fix something and understanding when you don't or can't.

    Cons

There are no cons that I can see so far except maybe salary stagnation, but I'm completely fine with how much I'm making as of right now

Beautiful campus and long summer vacation time, if you are lucky not teaching an autumn term in August.

    Pros

Beautiful Campus, Good 403B, extremely laid back working environment, Caring and dedicated co-workers.

    Cons

Salary was abysmal. There is no performance bonus. Very little training or opportunities to advance. There were multi-million dollar construction projects being finished but zero raises for the several years I worked there.

    Advice to Management

Pay people what they deserve to get paid. Invest in up to date technologies and quality training for employees.

I worked at Eckerd College (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very nice location. Laid back atmosphere. Reasonable work expectation. Good benefits.

    Cons

Relatively low pay with often and constant promises for pay scales or pay reform. Very difficult to advance. Management ranges from very good to Neanderthal-like. Upper management and President's office have been known to fire people with little or no due-process. Rampant nepotism evident in director level employees..

    Advice to Management

Pay good people to keep good people. Your employee base is your backbone and while the environment at the school is first-rate. People like to be recognized for good work and not punished for trivial things.
