    Pros

Good managers, interesting work. There are a lot of people there wanting to support you and your goals. It is easy to change areas if you are unhappy.

    Cons

Being a large and older company people can be resistant to change. Software hasn't been updated in a long time and IT is hard to work with sometimes. But that doesn't affect me on a daily basis and shouldn't be a reason someone wouldn't take a job here.

I worked at Ecolab full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Provides all computer equipment needed for remote work.
Vacation accrual and benefits from day 1.
Decent pay for this type of work.

    Cons

Typical call center work - lots of angry callers and high stress environment.
Micromanagement and emphasis is on quick call times and metrics, not service.
24/7/365 work environment means you're scheduled to work on all holidays.
Need to request holidays, Fridays and Mondays off 6 months in advance.
Different break and lunch schedule daily. Sometimes lunch break is over 5 hours into shift.
Lack of consistent answers between managers and CSA help line.
Forced to field calls about credit issues, but no access to full credit history.

    Advice to Management

Don't tout "first call resolution" as a customer service high point when the stock answer to people wanting something more than service on their machine or to place an order is "We will message your rep".
Good customer service means listening to the caller to figure out their complaint not rushing them to meet the 135 second call metric.
Stop treating employees as nothing more than a number. The remote reps are a vital part of the CSA team as well as on-site employees. If you are going to cater in a meal for the on-site workers, do something for remote reps too. Sending an Ecolab branded pad of paper and pen is NOT employee appreciation.

    Pros

Good pay for straight out of college. Large company so opportunities are out there if you actively search for them

    Cons

Management is cut-throat and look out for themselves. Not an attractive place for young people because culture is old school and not a fun place to work. Expected to work long hours

    Advice to Management

    Look out for your employees

    Pros

Work life balance in most positions. Financially healthy company. I've had good managers for the most part. New headquarters is nice.

    Cons

If you come into Ecolab right out of college you are compensated much below your market value. Value outside talent more.

I have been working at Ecolab full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ecolab has a high integrity culture, and all around good working enviornment. Many jobs here have a flexible work schedule as well.

    Cons

Long hours is pretty much the only the only con I can think of. Ecolab is a growing business and there is a lot of work to be done. Sometimes, they expect too much from their employees. However, the amount work expected is probably in line with other fortune 500 companies.
