I worked at Ecolab full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Company Vehicle with all expenses paid. Good not Great Benefits. Benefits are changing (not for the better) frequently.

    Cons

High Pressure to made additional sales daily/weekly/monthly/yearly! Like many jobs, it becomes very repetitive and OLD! Causes some reps to sell items, which include chemicals and related products that aren't needed. Ecolab management runs on the EPS mindset. While they want to take care of the customer, it's all with the Stock Market in mind. This company works employees to the bone. Very poor work/life balance. This means that you're on call 24/7/365 unless you have another associate cover for you. This can be difficult. You're on call until at least 11PM daily unless it's a large customer .. Corporate will call you at any time of the night! That SUCKS!! Actually there are to many cons to list!!!

I worked at Ecolab full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Somewhat of a flexible schedule, benefits. My fellow workers were always there. Company van but couldn't use for personal use not that I would have because it's decaled.

    Cons

Long hours, micromanagement, you will always be in the wrong, good ole boy environment. Dirty work. Management never around except by phone. Lack of training. Just get it done attitude. Long hours with out compensation. No work/home balance. On call 24/7 and rotate weekends on call. Can't take a proper vacation. Must make budget and call commitment even if you take a vacation. Had a death in family and I had to find someone to cover me or couldn't attend funeral. Huge retaliation factor if you go against management. Once you do wrong they start nit picking. If you befriend to right people you can get away with anything. My group had someone with 52 calls a month and ones 80-100. If you don't know the right people you won't get new business. More then happy to tell you did wrong.

I have been working at Ecolab full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Independent work with great benefits. Lots of company support. Relationship building across local food & beverage colleagues. Every day is challenging.

    Cons

Corporate and national sales are out of your control and can largely affect commissions. Demanding long hours on call 24/7.

I have been working at Ecolab

    Pros

Pay, benefits, work schedule flexibility, Company car, all expenses paid, can attain pay increases by your direct performance (you control) as you grow your route.

    Cons

on call 24/7, only off on weekends by rotating with teammates... there is no extra compensation for this time. Work/ Life balance is not good as you never can go home and shut off the phone after work. Always on call.

I have been working at Ecolab full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Not too many pros, company car, company phone, and laptop. Travel on company dime to training headquarters was fun.

    Cons

Equipment failure!! The machine's and equipment constantly fails. You cannot plan a day to make calls, u will get calls to run repairs. Customers expect problems fixed 2 minutes after they happen. Training is not nearly enough, you get thrown to the wolves to work on 480 volt conveyor machines. Work weekends for free! Expect to work 70 plus hours when u start. On call 24-7 until it's not weekend on call. You could be at home in bed and then u get a call at 2am to run a repair required at a 24 hour diner. Management does not recognize running repairs as work. They still want you to sell, sell, sell.

I worked at Ecolab full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Car, poor Health ins, make your own schedule

    Cons

I worked an average of 60 plus hours a week, on Dish and laundry machines, you sell the account soap, then you must install the equipment on the machine, if your weak at plumbing, electrical, etc you will spend a lot of time installing, and not selling and making budget, also you will be on call 24/7 and on weekends, and have to also cover other territories, when guys are on Vacation , or if there is an open territory, you get some money for gas but it's usually not enough to cover weekly mileage, if you have a family as many other post have said, plan on not seeing them, if you are single and love to work 7am to 8pm the job is for you, and don't forget going out on sat and Sunday nights to fix a problem at 2am at the 24 hour dinner, The management is the good old boys network, as said in many other posts, you become a manager if your sales numbers are good then all the guys who work for you now have to make there number for you to bonus, so Goodluck, stay away from this company.

    I worked at Ecolab full-time

    Pros

Good pay, company vehicle, set your own schedule (somewhat)

    Cons

No time for a life, incompetent middle management, too many mid-level managers and CAM's sticking their fingers into the pot. On call 24/7, everyday. Too many accounts with too little time to realistically help the customer. If you have a family then this is NOT the job for you. Expect to be on call and out working every weekend.
