I have been working at Edelman full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of great perks from happy hours, to transportation reimbursement, gym membership reimbursement, great benefits 401k, health, vision, dental. Great family oriented culture to work for. Flexible with job relocation.

    Cons

Really cannot think of anything. I was going to say pay, however I must be honest that you get paid what you earn. If you want to get paid more you really have to have a great attitude, show up on time, turn out great work consistently. I really wouldn't expect anything other than this in order to be compensated satisfactorily anywhere else, so why not here?

    Advice to Management

Reward you infrastructure departments, they are the life line of the entire company worldwide. AR, AP, Billing, Contracts, Legal, etc.

    Pros

Very solid digital practice. Good training ground for junior staff.

    Cons

Offices operate as silos due to an antiquated geographic P&L structure. Client work is often mis-staffed so that offices may hoard revenue as opposed to best serve their clients. Fiefdoms and poor behavior by their ring leaders are tolerated, including by the highest levels of leadership. Internal politics negatively affect the work environment on a daily basis. Few women exist in senior leadership positions; it's a boy's club, plain and simple.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at the results of your annual employee engagement surveys and do something about it.

I have been working at Edelman full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Edelman has a solid brand name and looks good on paper. It's definitely a good place to learn how not to manage a business, or treat employees.

    Cons

Edelman lacks process. Senior leadership at the top levels of the organizations (C-Suite) are decent, but, beyond that they do not know how to people manage. Inflated titles, lack of transparency, terrible compensation, work some people to death, while others skate by going to happy hours and charging lunches on the companies dime. Zero lack of ethics, very political, and sad.

    Advice to Management

In desperate need of improved systems, process, and leadership training.

    I worked at Edelman full-time

    Pros

Edelman is a great resume builder.

    Cons

Lack of teamwork, lots of drama and backstabbing. Incredibly competitive environment that draws "climbers" that are often all talk, no action.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Great resume builder if you plan on working in PR.

    Cons

Lacks diversity on several levels. If you are a person of color good luck fitting into the corporate culture and trying to find a mentor (I have heard some of the conversations from mid-level managers) If you aren't a prep you better get started looking and acting the part.

    Advice to Management

    Get out of the box.
