    Great Culture

Nov 15, 2022 - Assistant Account Executive in Washington, DC
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Edelman has extremely kind and supportive staff.

    Cons

The wage for this position was low when you consider the amount of revenue the company brings in and the amount of work expected.

    An absolute joke.

Oct 27, 2022 - Strategist in Chicago, IL
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The cliche "isn't owned by a typical parent company" is not a pro. That means they can run wild. They operate like a master agency, and because they aren't public, they are super sketch.

    Cons

Diversity is a fallacy. They hire, and fire diversity quickly. Not an ounce of strategic leadership. Absolutely none. I can't think of one strong or motivating piece of advice I received from any higher-ups in strategy, and it's a shame because I asked. No mentorship - they expect you to learn the Edelman way on your own. I don't even want to say lack of transparency, because for being the top PR agency in the world, supposedly, there is no transparency. Their internal comms (and external) is a scam.

    Not for everyone

Nov 16, 2022 - Vice President in New York, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Variety of projects, mostly kind people, some sense of stability - seems hard to get fired based on my interactions with a few bad apples who are still there

    Cons

Kind people also can't say no to clients, poor work-life balance, structurally messy, limited advertising experience leaves people terrified of production and likely to kill ideas internally instead of giving them a chance, salaries are lower than at ad agencies, it's mostly women.

    Here to stay

Oct 30, 2022 - Vice President in Dallas, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Been here almost a decade and I don't plan to leave. I feel paid and promoted fairly, great benefits, excellent work life balance, especially now that we can work from home, and values I align with. Leadership has also spoken out and made clear to employees and clients where they stand on key societal issues so I'm really proud to work for a company with a soul.

    Cons

Pay doesn't equal in house rates so boomerangs are an issue (people who leave only to come back in like a year for more pay).

Best PR Agency to Work with

Sep 29, 2022 - Account Manager in New York, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

One of the most important reasons to work with this organization is that they really care about their employee's mental health, and try to support their personal as well as professional growth

    Cons

If you are used to working in toxic environments, this place might seem unreal at first. But then you'll get a hang of it with time.

    Lots of Internal Politics

Oct 10, 2022 - Senior Account Executive in New York, NY

    Pros

    - Work with some of the biggest companies/brand names in the world - Learn a lot / Work with really smart people - Great foundation for a career inn PR/Comms

    Cons

    - Unbelievable amount on internal politics that hinders the overall experience - Different offices/practices have different culture... but the New York office culture is terrible - Long hours for very little pay
