    Pros

I loved working for The Edge. I worked as a floor manager in the housekeeping department. Everyone helped each other out very well. They really do take care of their employees. We had monthly employee luncheons that they would cater and people who were working that day could join in on. Very positive environment to work in.

    Cons

High turnover rate with the housekeepers.

I worked at Edgewater Resort and Waterpark part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

meeting people from around the world
    friendly co-workers
    paid breaks
    free use of waterpark
get two nights (I think) to stay at other hotels with the company

    Cons

lifeguards (from what I hear) usually get paid way more than a dollar above minimum
knee and feet in constant pain even after not working there for months
you can't stay there if you work there
you can't stay in the company hotels if it's at a busy time (apple feast, Christmas, etc)
shifts are 7 1/2 hrs to 8 1/2 hours (could be worse but so much walking..)
not as flexible as they say

    Advice to Management

Pay your lifeguards what is usually paid for lifeguards and maybe make shifts shorter.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Edgewater Resort and Waterpark full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Generally good employee recognition with bi-monthly luncheons, relatively easy to move around within departments, moving up and growing as an employee is common which is a great learning experience. Easy to make friends and job connections as well. I have generally found that you easily work around a school schedule or other commitments.

    Cons

The whole hotel is generally run by college age people, so occasionally the personal life can get too mixed in with the work life. It is also easy to burn out in some departments since this is a customer service industry and hotel guests can be unforgiving. I have also seen (and experienced) that it is hard to get away from the job and leave it behind.

    Advice to Management

Make sure policies are clear and written down before taking swift action. Sometimes some people get hurt while others don't for generally the same issue.
