Keep up the good work, but also give opportunities for employees and better bonuses rewards.

I have been working at Edison Chouest Offshore (More than a year)

    Pros

There still in business and if you survived the cuts, then there is work for you. They always pay you on time.

    Cons

No 401 k match, no extra pay on holidays. There use to be a strong pride for working here but they showed no loyalty during the down turn and everyone feels jaded.

I worked at Edison Chouest Offshore full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good place to learn. Company has good reputation.

    Cons

Low pay, no vacation first year, and sexist and racist atmosphere. TBH, could not wait to leave.

    Pros

Worked for Chouest for more than 3 years, great company at good times, poor at the bad time. Free schooling and housing.

    Cons

To many polices changes everyday, middle management will be the downfall of this company. NO communication between sectors, people of position, and the ordinary JOE.
At it's best times and at it's worst you often feel under valued and underappreciated.
It's to my understanding a lot of salary cuts and financial adjustments have taken place.

    Advice to Management

Create a system or environment where your workers can feel valued and appreciated at all levels . Good work, good reward. Project goals etc

    Pros

Big company, one of the last companies to initiate paycuts.

    Cons

Over 30% cut in pay over the last 2 years, no more 401k match, struggling industry

    Advice to Management

Try and keep the good workers.

I have been working at Edison Chouest Offshore full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

When I started pay was great matching 401k, holiday pay , travel pay, safety bonus, housing, free classes

    Cons

It's pretty much all gone now , none of the above is offered.

    Advice to Management

Please understand that it's now an environment of fear. Management has actually indicated that they are looking for reasons to fire you. During a meeting a Manager indicated that if you are not smiling you have no value to the company. It does not matter what is going through in your life , you must smile or leave.
