    I worked at Education Management Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    There was a lot of room for adding your own spin on things in class, industry experience so to speak. The company had great benefits in the beginning but as they started to lay people off and close college the benefits got worse and worst too. However, still the best job I ever had in terms of the people I worked with. They were simply the best!

    Cons

    School closed, the management at the corporate level didn't seem to give a darn.

    Advice to Management

    Let you people in on the financial goings on so they can prepare themselves for when there is a lay off of school closure. You're messing with peoples lives here.

    I have been working at Education Management Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * Great pay
    *A lot of OT if desired.
    *Tuition covered
    * Meaning-full work
    *Co-Workers
    * Good environment for professional development and on-going training

    Cons

    *After lawsuits with DOE just like UOP laid off and requirement to get back in was a 4 year degree.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing other than keep doing what you are doing my mgrs at the time tim araiza and clark dale were nothing short of amazing. Felt like I could do things the way I did them all the while still being able to go over calls and get constructive feedback to help me better my craft. No micro-managing felt nice for a change and not having some one down your throat 6 hours out of the 10 hr days.

    I have been working at Education Management Corporation full-time

    Pros

    The students are upper level. Most of them enter into the school ready to work hard and learn in an unconventional and creative way.

    Cons

    The company is hyperfocused on the bottom line. But, that said, it is a great company to work for.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in the faculty and the technology. It's truly what sets us apart.

    I have been working at Education Management Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    A very thorough screening process is used to ensure only the best people work here. Management understands that appreciating talent is as important as the paycheck.

    Cons

    Unfortunately due to downturns in the employment prospects for certain fields, the organization was forced to scale back its programs. This is leading to closing our division.
