    Pros

Flexible schedule within reason, decent pay, great co-workers, decent benefits

A ton of work with a small team to assist who all have a ton of work which makes it tough to get help when needed. No advancement opportunities and if there are - you're one of a million people going for it.

    Advice to Management

Try listening to your long term employees - like actually listen ....

    Pros

Great people to work with, people care about each other and work towards a common goal. Good pay, focused on the right things

I have been working at Education Management Corporation part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As a student worker, and tutor, I get to pick my own hours. I get to meet and help teachers with large classes. I love helping people and a tutoring job is perfect for while in school. I have respect as a tutor, and I get to be treated as an equal worker.

    Cons

The on-boarding often messes up, as well as the first paycheck. An acquaintance of mine got no on-boarding email and kicked from the system temporarily.

I worked at Education Management Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A wide range of experience can be gained. Since organization is fairly loose, you may find yourself acquiring tasks that do not fit your job title or description. This can be a pro or a con depending on the person. Personally, I thought it was nice to have a wide range of things I could work on.

    Cons

Massive budget issues. Across the board layoffs for over two years. Sometimes I inherited projects that had very little direction yet were treated with a sense of urgency by management only to be shut down midway due to budget constraints. Lack of consistency on policies is frustrating.

    Advice to Management

I'm not sure that I can recommend anything to management. I think the majority of the problems involve the budget situation which is out of management's hands at this point.
