    Perfect Work/Life balance!

    Pros

As an intern in the department that I worked, there is lots of flexibility to chose your specialization. You get to learn a lot on the job and work with a lot of knowledgable people.Definitely had a very good work/life balance!

    Cons

Very small career growth or advancement to next level

ETS is a comfortable intellectual assembly line.

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good work / life balance - reasonable hours Interesting and very intelligent co-workers Better than being an adjunct (in terms of pay, time spent working, and self-respect) Paid hours (6, I think) for each employee for community service--company commitment to service

    Cons

Stingy vacation / personal time policies (2 weeks to start for everyone, 7 personal days which are to be used as sick days but can't be banked), no sick time Little respect for test development work by senior management or by people in areas of the company outside of the test development area Little communication between different departments Company is trying to transition from sleepy academic enclave to more "corporate" style but seems incompetent at many aspects of being "run like a business." Repetitive work - intellectual factory line Extremely egomaniacal CEO

    Pros

ETS is doing very well financially and looking to expand its workforce. The retirement and educational reimbursement benefits are excellent. Work/life balance can be very good.

    Cons

Salaries at ETS are not competitive with salaries of other companies. Employees who do very poor work are tolerated. In our team one employee cannot handle the simplest tasks yet he has been working at ETS for 20 years. This is only one example in our department.

Good place to work/below average salary

Feb 28, 2013 - IT Lead in Princeton, NJ

    Pros

Great work life balance with tilt towards life :) Friendly people Good treatment towards independent contractors Low work load Great 401K and 403b. They match upto 6% of salary in 401K. 3% in 401b.

    Cons

Salary/contracting rates are below average to average.(Considering the amount of work this is reasonable) Some groups use old technology Lot of fiefdoms which make simple projects complicated. Ridiculously low bonus
