    Pros

The autonomy to build my practice focusing on my strengths and having the support of a large company to help in areas that are not the best use of my time to serving clients' needs is unparalleled. The opportunity to earn ownership in the partnership is open to everyone at the firm not just the financial advisors.

    Cons

Takes time to build your individual practice.

    Advice to Management

Please continue focusing on supporting the branch team and not just the FA. Thanks for making the tough choices with new regulation to keep the partnership healthy for future generations.

    Pros

I was with EJ for 3 years as an FA. It's a cut throat job. The FAs that make it are one of a kind. If you have what it takes, which few do you WILL be successful and have an amazing career, a life that no one around you will have. As for me, I just didn't make the cut. The first 3-5 years are extremely tough. When I say tough, I don't mean your job duties, I mean mentally and you really can't prepare yourself for it until your actually out in the field living it.

    Cons

No cons. Its hard work. If your not willing to work hard you will not have success. People will complain about why they didn't make it. If you fail at this job it's your own fault and I take responsibility for that. EJ sets you up for success, everyone around you wants you to be successful. They will bend over backwards to help you. You just have to ask for it.

I worked at Edward Jones full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really enjoyed everyone I worked with! Edward Jones really knows how to take care of its people! VERY inclusive environment where everyone wants to help each other !

    Cons

The first couple years as a Financial Advisor are filled with 60-65 hr work weeks! Becomes really hard on the family life.

    Advice to Management

I cannot complain about my time at this firm! The only advise that I would have for management is that HQ and the field trainers need to be more aligned. During training there always seemed to be a disconnect between the two. Overall, a fantastic place to work!

I have been working at Edward Jones full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Have the luxury to work from home, or in the office depending upon my mood and traffic. Pay is competitive, great benefits, 3 weeks of vacation after 3 years. Supportive culture, everyone is willing to help eachother out.

    Cons

While not a true Con, Bonuses fluctuate so you cannot count on them as part of your own annual budgeting, but hey, its a bonus and thats hard to make any complaints about.

    Advice to Management

    Keep on trucking!

I have been working at Edward Jones full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company. They take great care of their employees with pay/commission/bonuses/benefits/401k/profit sharing. I love building relationships with our clients and helping them reach their financial goals.

    Cons

The financial industry isn't my passion. It's an ever changing market, and something you really need to have a great interest in or it gets extremely overwhelming at times.
