I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None. Appears to be highly credible from the outside, but inside quite the contrary in every way possible. Managers and supervisors are extremely incompetent, lack solid leadership skills, clear thinking and calm judgment.

    Cons

-Critical Care Labeling department management degraded employees, lacked skills, knowledge and credentials to hold management positions.
-No clear milestones or deadlines with unsubstantiated expectations.
-Constant change in seating arrangements, overall structure of project plan causing employees to sit around with nothing to do for weeks on end awaiting a solid direction.
    -Unstable work environment.
-Zero tolerance for dialogue; even work related exchanges among co-workers.
    -Intimidation tactics practiced regularly.
    -No respect for employees.
-No point of view from employees welcome.
-Average life of a good employee 3-4 months max.
-Immediate termination of employees who refuse to entertain management's bullying.
-Lack of visibility to project forecasting.
-Unprofessional demeanor and dialogue in town hall type of environment among management causing distraction in quality environment.
-Management full of volatile decision making, changing weekly based on their poor judgment, even if it means they get to go home at 4 PM and employees stay at work until 8 PM or come in on weekends.
-No emphasis on QUALITY in document control FDA regulated environment.

    Advice to Management

Create a work environment without constant disruptive changes in seating arrangements or project guidelines. Provide clear and concise project direction. Supply visibility to expectations, rather than putting highly qualified, capable, and eager employees in a toxic, non-progressive work environment. If you're not qualified for the management position you've somehow landed at Edwards, respectfully tap out. The sooner you do this, the sooner you'll stop contributing to a perpetual never-ending abyss of problems for future and/or current customers to unveil and in turn result in re-work for the labeling department. Lastly, basic rule of life: treat all employees or people with respect and maintain a professional work environment. This means it’s unacceptable for management to openly and continuously engage in behavior deemed unacceptable for employees.

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time

    Pros

the appearance of the campus and somewhat the cafe. The technology it is developing.

    Cons

So much to write and have seen it well worded. I completely agree with a recent and lengthy post I just read which is precise and well detailed and worded to the point of what lurks in the work life there in general.
I would say TOXIC and manipulative management at the lower level is very true. Also about PIP used to corner an employee so they can tally up the pretexts to fire them...and so on.
If changes have not yet been made in over a year, something is so very wrong with this entire company or at least the catheter division

    Advice to Management

Take advice from the feedback seriously !!

    Pros

Working for a company that saves peoples lives.

    Cons

Labeling group with a really poor attitude from leadership and clica, poor communication, unclear and confusing standard work procedures, poor training, poor meetings, poor morale, and poor team dynamics. In less than 5 months about 10 people resigned from a total group of 40 leaving behind a culture of insecurity, mistreatment, and demeaning attitude.

    Advice to Management

get management training, stop screaming at people, and stop making people feel miserable

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great team workers who really want to put out a good product. We work hard to get the job done right and on time.

    Cons

There is an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. Due to negative attitude from upper management, 4 workers walked out in 3 months.

    Advice to Management

    Review Globel Labeling department management.

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The only good thing about this company is the salary compensation. The benefits are also the only other good aspect about this place. If you just care about money then this is the place for you.

    Cons

If you care about work environment which encompasses team work, mentorship, growth, good management and a genuine human caring element, this definitely not the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Management layers need to interact and communicate more often. Make sure leaders at all levels are fostering a non hostile environment which produces employee loyalty. Why do you think the turnover rate is so high and there's always plenty of open opportunities. Intimidation, fear and a lack of compassion isn't an ideal environment that most sensible people want to be a part of.

    Pros

Name use to carry some cache, nice cafeteria.

    Cons

Managers are clueless, very political atmosphere, a lot of chest pounding, posturing, and big egos. Top heavy organization where very few engineers get tons of pressure from very many managers who try to take credit for pushing them.

    Advice to Management

decrease in number, increase in skill.

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can learn a lot. There are some nice and smart people.

    Cons

It is just a rampant, disorganized culture that is hungry for scapegoats. Admit one mistake or issue and you're already on the chopping block where coworkers start being very passive aggressive towards you and start bullying you.

Rather than actually spending any time really developing any talent, they rather use you as a scapegoat for their displaced frustrations. Honestly, the only way to succeed is to suck up to your superiors.

    Advice to Management

The culture needs a revamp. Stop trying to punish or find someone to blame and actually develop them. You'd be surprised how many hidden problems you could fix.

I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The facility in Draper has been under construction for some time but it is starting to look very nice. In addition to multiple breakrooms there's also a new fitness center available to the employees at a very reasonable cost.
They offer decent benefits such as tuition reimbursement, 401(k), medical insurance, 3 wks of vacation (recent change to help address employee retention problem),etc.

    Cons

it's a revolving door... experienced professionals don't stay too long, but recent college graduates are loving it. Hint, hint??!?
Also, good luck trying to maintain a reasonable work/life balance - very poor planning, lack of communication and unreasonable expectations.

    Advice to Management

Someone from the HQ should take a closer look at the management in Draper
