I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Benefits, amazing campus (with gym and large subsidized cafe), and cool community building events

    Cons

The company has no soul. Sr. Management throws down impossible "stretch" goals, resulting in overworked/demoralized staff and quick burnouts. Cut-throat attitudes, micro-managers galore, and people in management positions who should probably take a few management courses before overseeing a team. Don't be dazzled by the offer package. In return you'll be expected to be on call 24/7 (text, email, phone--kiss your free time goodbye), and work with thankless people.

    Advice to Management

Peer-to-peer evaluations do nothing to uncover the managerial flaws of your senior management team. Also, conversations and feedback with HR go in a black hole. Your innovation and investment in R&D is phenomenal. I wish Edwards would put the same time/effort/money on valuing their employees and providing an adequate work/life balance.

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time

    Pros

Campus is beautiful, near the airport and great amenities. Bonuses at least in the THV business unit have been at the max for the last couple years.

    Cons

Very political, not really very many perks considering how profitable the company is, salaries are at the low end of the spectrum, only TDPs can move up at a reasonable rate, merit increases are almost insignificant. It's basically a bubble and you have to drink the "Kool aid" to be successful. High performers and achievers do not get rewarded if you aren't in the club.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times...the world is changing faster than our systems can keep up with.
