Low pay, long hours & toxic environment

May 21, 2021 - Account Manager in Cleveland, OH

    Pros

Networking opportunities, get to work with a range of different suppliers and retailers

    Cons

All the reviews mentioned the low pay, long hours , high expectations on the workload, management cut corners are very well said. It is truly the most clicky place you will ever see, promotions are given to a small group of “insiders”, management run this place with a high school mean girls mentality. HR is a 1 person department often times none presence and doesn’t know what is going on in the field and just not capable of her job or help the organization to have any bit of structure. With the hourly rate here, you are better off flipping burgers at McDonald’s. For people who have college degree this is not where you want to build off your career.

    Discouraging Work Environment

Feb 7, 2021 - Event Staff in Solon, OH
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    traveling opportunities (before covid), networking

    Cons

Hardwork is not acknowledged by managment, investment company pressures everything to the bottom line- very small growth for raises and promotions, upper management that bases a lot of their promotions on a clique mentality, positions given to individuals based on who they are friends with vs having the skills, degree, etc. HR department comprises of one person and is highly unprofessional (not sure how they have stayed in the position as long as they have), a very discouraging work atmosphere when you are constantly overworked and severly underpaid.

    Not worth it

Jan 31, 2021 - Event Staff in Solon, OH
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Travel, remote work (sometimes denied to certain positions), struggling to find the five minimum words here, casual environment

    Cons

bottom of the barrel pay, long on-site hours (OT exempt for 14 hour days with required meal attendance), management lacking credentials for the positions they manage to snag, click-y environment, everything is about the bottom-line, always looking to cut corners, lacking diverse leadership in VP, Director positions, nepotism (!!!!), and an absent HR department.

    Pros

Travel, Coworkers/ made some lifelong friends, Not boring/ unique company, good networking

    Cons

Long hours, awful pay, nepotistic, upper management could be disrespectful, HR almost nonexistent and unprofessional, owned by investment firm (cheap), high turnover of part time staff, felt under appreciated... since Covid-19 pandemic the business has changed and are online now, so now no travel.

Challenging, low-paying but can be rewarding

Sep 4, 2019 - Anonymous Employee in Solon, OH

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Coworkers turn to family - Very relaxed dress code - Freedom (no one will be upset if you have a doctors appointment/other important commitments) - Client-facing and relationship building - Travel (also a con) - Your voice is heard, and new ideas are welcomed

    Cons

    - LOW PAY, I know this is entry level for most low level employees, but the salary is brutal - Travel, prepare yourself with 14 hour days and even 20 hour days if you travel to the West Coast and NO OVERTIME PAY. It’s almost criminal. - # of clients, you can expect to manage hundreds of supplier and buyer accounts with no additional compensation. It’s incredibly stressful trying to make every account happy, when many problems are out of your control - High turnover, ECRM cannot retain great employees because stress can be at times too much - Sales team will sign anyone up with a checkbook, even if they aren’t ready for a session. That client will have a poor experience and it reflects badly on the Account Manager
