    Pros

The employees at the company are very friendly and great to work with. You are staffed with different client work during the internship so the work can be diverse. They train you for the first 4 weeks.

    Cons

VERY LOW PAY. Expect to work long hours when you hit the third or fourth week (no overtime pay). The interns are pushed to work long hours. (overworking seems to be appreciated at this company, which is not ideal).

The work can be incredibly monotonous. There isn't much strategy involved in the assignments. Linkedin will be your best friend during this internship. The work isn't too hard, but you need great communication/collaboration skills.

Most of the research employees here do not seem excited or fulfilled by the work they're doing. Most people continue as analysts after the internship, however they often think of leaving the company after a couple years. There is a tense dynamic between research and consultants.

    Advice to Management

Train your intern coordinators. My intern coordinator was not invested in my personal growth whatsoever. Lack of empathy and confidence in my IC didn't make personal issues at the workplace solvable.

Please increase the intern salary wages. They deserve to be paid more to compensate with the amount of work given to them.

    Pros

GREAT people to work with, very sharp minds both in Research and Consulting. Excellent name on your resume, especially for consulting post-grad school.

    Cons

Work is total drudgery. Research is repetitive, demanding timelines, and NO path to consulting. None.

    Advice to Management

I'd try to use the top tier talent available in research, provide a path for career advancement into the ranks of consulting/partners. For a company that models itself on MBB, this is a no-brainer.

    Pros

Lots of training available. The Subject Matter Experts are global, but always willing to lend a hand, give guidance. Local office is small, so you know everyone you work with. The firm itself is very generous to its employees. I'd highly recommend this company; this office, no.

    Cons

The local office culture emphasizes agreement with the group at any cost. Perfect place to work if you value lock-step thinking and acquiescence to the leadership. Assertive, think-outside-the-box types need not apply. You will NOT be rewarded for being your own person.

    Pros

Great culture and people. Consultants/partners are willing to mentor researchers. You can get exposure to different industries and functions.

    Cons

Not a great growth trajectory for researchers. They are working on it, but there is a pretty big wall you hit after 3-4 yrs.

I worked at Egon Zehnder full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Exceptional training and development opportunities, strong collaboration within local research teams. Recent opportunity to provide top leadership with feedback around work life balance, positives and negatives of each role within the company. Proactively seeking to improve the culture and experience of their employees.

    Cons

Lack of collaboration and sense of partnership between research and consultant teams. Sense of hierarchy and entitlement at the consultant level. Additional opportunities for growth outside of core responsibilities can translate into a lack of work/life balance.
