I worked at EgyptAir full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are seeking long term contracts and permanent position ... go for it . contracts there ends by the pension age. good salaries and good private medical insurance.

    Cons

the worst thing in Egyptair is the certifications of your experience. Egyptair engineers are certified from the ECAA only ... so no EASA 66 license. also the type rating in approved internally from EGME only. so if you traveled abroad .. you have nothing to support you in your career as a LAME.

    Advice to Management

try to add your engineers to the easa certifications to gain more maintenance contracts . try reducing the management and enlarging the technical department.

"working as cabin crew in Egyptair"

    Star Star Star Star Star
Current Employee - Cabin Crew in Cairo (Egypt)
Current Employee - Cabin Crew in Cairo (Egypt)
    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Stable job as Egyptair is a government company and it is almost impossible to get fired as a government employee unless you do a huge wrong and even then you'll be given a second chance.

Full medical insurance, they have their own hospital plus international insurance with BUPA.

Most of your colleagues are friendly and nice, with time you feel like they are your family.

    Cons

Very low salary compared to all major airlines.

Egyptian passengers will make you tired, they are not quiet and have many requests.

Their is a shortage in the cabin crew numbers and many flights take off with minimum crew or minimum plus one which adds extra work to your own duties, you are basically doing your duties plus the duties of a missing cabin crew member, the company doesn't hire enough cabin crew in order to save money, planes rarely take off with full crew, you are always stressed and overloaded.

Management is really bad and work environment is unfair.

    Advice to Management

Please raise the cabin crew salaries, we are getting paid less than all the gulf and major airlines worldwide.
