    Pros

Great hours, great experience if you enjoy working with a variety of customers and fast paced environment.

    Cons

Lack of advancement and very few promotion opportunities. Health care is a hit or miss, usually bought on your own and not part of the company.

    Advice to Management

Promote employee growth and perhaps introduce an incentive program for compensation/appraisal.

    Pros

Discount on food, its only 20%, but if you skip your lunch break you can scarf down a free sandwich.

    Cons

This location is on the UT campus in Knoxville, and it is owned and operated by Aramark. They treat their employees absolutely awful. Each employee was overworked, received no benefits, and you have to pay for your own parking space (which they don't tell you till after they hire you...). There is absolutely no opportunity for advancement, and the managers could not be any more unfriendly. Routine duties were often changed, and every week they invented a *new* way to do something, and those who accidentally continued to do it the old way were severely reprimanded. It was common on fridays for payroll to be forgotten, as the office that managed the checks was a few miles down the road. However, they closed before anyone was released from work, so you would have to wait till the following monday to pick up your check. I would not recommend this job to anyone.

    Advice to Management

I would highly recommend that the management give regular reviews on each employee, especially when it comes to newly introduced standards and practices. An occasional "good job" would be extremely appreciated as well, i'm sure.

    Pros

Great employees. Good discount for employee meals. Lots of regular customers that can be friendly and a pleasure to serve.

    Cons

The upper managment really needs to get it together. They are constantly changing regulations and procedures making it very difficult for employees to keep up. Methods are impractical and require high labor for little profit. Managment has very little regard for anything other than profit, and employees are entirely expendable. Our stores refrigerator has been broken for almost 5 months, keeping food dangerously warm, and they won't fix it because they dont want to pay for repairs. No holiday pay, and were open everyday except Christmas day. They have the lowest pay rate for shift managers that i have ever come across and never give raises without a promotion regardless of the quality of employees, yet they have no problem overburdening their employees with more and more things to do everyday. Its unfortunate that the managment is soo poor and greedy within this company, they are loosing too many quality hardworking individuals for their own good.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees every now and then. We have great insight and know what works and what doesn't. Have some consistancy with what you need us to do, and stop changing it every week. *Allow tips,* and this is key, i have no idea why you wouldn't. It gives employees an insentive to provide an enjoyable and delicious dining experience, at no cost to you, and subsidizes the poor pay. Close on some of the major holidays, you are litterally losing money to stay open (or at least make it an option for GM's) because nobody comes in.
