I worked at Eisai full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Andover site had really great colleagues and culture, the company works with genuine concern for patients. Really nice building and facility. Commute is easy. Focus is on organic growth, and it is a great place to learn and do drug discovery and development.

    Cons

Company is in tight financial position since last few years.

    Advice to Management

Business development and strategic thinking has gaps....some of great assets were not cashed, some decisions like MGI acquisition backfired. Need clarity on how to utilize strengths of 2 different cultures so that US (work smarter, and move faster) and Japan (work harder, never give up, focus on quality work) do not cancel each others strengths.

I worked at Eisai full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good medical plan , cafeteria

    Cons

Bad atmosphere. Dog eat dog. Directors do nothing. Don't help with problems with other depts. or outside vendors. Not sure how committed upper management in Japan is in keeping US facilities open. Don't work here unless you are unemployed.

    Advice to Management

    Help your people

I worked at Eisai full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and a good amount of time off.

    Cons

Zero opportunity for growth. I have seen unjust promotions based on who is liked not how they performed. Executive leadership is extremely weak. They are not aligned as a team and give inconsistent direction to their teams. They spend more time following direction from the global CEO and chairman vs working with their people.

    Advice to Management

For once, listen to the employees. We actually do make sense.

    I worked at Eisai full-time

    Pros

I enjoyed the people I worked with during my time at Eisai. The flexibility was nice. There is good opportunity to advance your career while here.

    Cons

Training on anything other than products and legal requirements is non-existent, turnover is extremely high, HR policies are lacking. IC is developed by ZS and does not recognize and reward the best performers.

    Advice to Management

CEO should be aware that high turnover is due to middle management. Future leaders should be chosen by the ability to inspire their team. Management claims they are trying to create a positive culture, but they are doing the opposite.
