    Cons

Not really their fault but rather just a sign of the times, but I miss hanging out with my coworkers.

I have been working at Ekata full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It is a small company that gives you a lot of room to grow. If you like work on small agile teams, this is a great place. There is opportunity to travel (some) and grow both professionally and personally! The company is also very supportive of work within the community.

    Cons

We are a growing company so sometimes have to be scrappy and work some odd hours.

I have been working at Ekata full-time for less than a year

    Pros

First off, the hiring process, although rigorous, was a smooth experience and the recruiting/HR team was communicative and helpful. Once hired, the onboarding process was one of the best I've ever experienced even when compared to much larger and "more established" companies. The product speaks for itself but the people that I work here is what MADE this company for me. They're not only talented and passionate but also they get it done. I've experienced many companies and company cultures where there's visible and invisible red tape that blocks certain people from finishing the work that needs to be done. Ekata is not that kind of company. Ekata is the type of company that you can make changes at. Learning and taking initiative is always encouraged and applauded. And when someone wins, there is clear recognition and appreciation.

    Cons

Sometimes things move too fast and certain details get lost in the noise. So there needs to be more structure and guidelines to certain things.

The leadership is mission-driven and always supportive of their people.

I worked at Ekata full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good work culture. Free snacks. ORCA pass. Cool people.

    Cons

Ekata shot themselves in the foot by rebranding from Whitepages. That was a staple brand people automatically trusted and searched for online. Sales tanked, and I was hired promising to double my salary with commission and I was making less than my previous job. I left shortly before they let half the team go due to 'poor performance' which ultimately lands on leadership and the rebranding.

I worked at Ekata full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    • Top-notch finance team that is fully transparent, e.g. reviews of the balance sheet, revenue forecasting, quarterly/yearly performance to plan, etc. Leadership has made extremely prudent financial decisions which leaves Ekata doing well in good times and bad. • Top-notch engineering and data science teams that are pushing the envelope when it comes identifying insights from huge data sets and making them accessible to customers at incredible speeds. • Exciting time for expansion. In the past two years, they have opened new offices in EMEA and APAC that are making verifiable progress in their respective markets, speaking to the efficacy of both product and hiring. • Great mix of experienced professionals and newer, less-experienced ones, creating a feedback and learning-positive environment that doesn’t punish you for saying "I don't know." • Open, positive environment for people from all walks of life. Diversity is sought after, but more can always be done. • Extreme loyalty to employees who experience rough times. On multiple occasions I witnessed the company and its employees go above and beyond to accommodate for turbulence in someone's life where other companies would have kicked them out the door. • All the benefits of an established, revenue positive company (no VC demands or timetables) packaged in a lean, Series B team. • Very limited bureaucracy and politics. • CEO is a sales guy with an engineering background, bringing the best of both worlds. • Extremely intelligent people across the entire organization who are easily accessible.

    Cons

    • Prepare for growing pains that would accompany a business that is undergoing rapid infrastructure and hiring pushes to move to the next tier in revenue generation. Standardizing processes can be tough for some and easy for others! • Most of the leaders are workaholics with similar expectations for all employees. If you like to have a 9-5 then clock off, that'll be hard to find at Ekata. You'll be hard pressed find a PTO email that doesn't contain "you can reach me on all channels."

Great office perks: kitchen filled with every snack and beverage you can imagine (including beer and alcohol). Weekly in-office massages, Friday lunches, Happy Hours, Coffee carts, etc. Solid team with strong leadership and a lot of people who have been with this company since the early years.

    Cons

Can't think of any at the moment.
