I worked at El Paso full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked for El Paso in Houston in the IT department. I learned a lot during my time there. We always had the best IT technology available to us, and people were very knowledgable and helpful.

    Cons

Days could be really long if working to resolve an issue. We moved office space 4 times in the 8 months I worked there. My desk at the end was a very tiny 1/2 sized cubicle.

I worked at El Paso full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Although the company continued to go through change, management was always consistent and treated employees honestly and fairly.

    Cons

Acquisitions and dispositions of businesses always required long hours and constant changes.

    Advice to Management

Annual employee review process should be evaluated as it is applied inconsistently across the businesses.

I worked at El Paso full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing culture and colleagues. Challenging and demanding work but great compensation and benefits. Work hard, play hard is the norm in my group (gas marketing).

    Cons

Large communication gap between senior leadership and everyone below them. Intraoffice politics can be pretty extreme but can b a benefit if you are on the right side.

    Advice to Management

Give employes the resources to excel and get out of the way.
