I worked at El Pollo Loco part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A little higher than minimum wage pay.
Easy to learn everything quickly and feel comfortable.
    Flexible with scheduling.
    Employee/ family Discounts.

    Cons

The work is usually very faced paced for the most part.
Greasy food can cause you to breakout.
    Very repetitive and boring.
Not enough hours to give all employees that want full time.

    Advice to Management

I wouldn't change much to be honest, the management and training is pretty straight forward and is not hard at all to pick up on. However if i was going to change anything it would be to add an extra cashier inside, because of how busy it can get sometimes. Also to rearrange the kitchen so that the freezer is in the back and not the middle of the store.

    Cons

I have been working at El Pollo Loco full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Some Lovely co workers.
Bonuses when p&l is under control.
    Food is great.
Lovely customers when you get to know them in a a more personal level.

    Cons

Double standards behavior if you are liked by senior managmt you will be ok even if you are not passing your inspections.

    Advice to Management

Many managers fail fssv or qsc inspections, and no one is using the same disciplinary standards, some managers are let go and others dont.
They created an unethical culture of protecting their upper level managmt and above.
Be aware of retaliation no matter who and what they tell you( i already feel worry if they find out).
Being in the stock market to increase their
profits they are letting go experienced managers with many years in the company and a great record with results.(quite a few within months right after joining the stock market)
Its crazy right now because everyone is getting the pressure to maximize profits no matter how is done...no raises to employees is one of them, no wonder why we have a high turn over rate and because of this we are never on top of service nor to pass inspections.
So if you are thinking of making a career and at some point get retired from here ....think twice.
You will love the job the first 1 to 2 years because they give time to adjust but then...be prepare.

I worked at El Pollo Loco part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The managers were terrific; they always looked after you and helped you with anything you needed. Great first job. Able to climb the ladder to becoming a manager very easily.

    Cons

Getting in the hang of things. At first, it's a bit overwhelming because it all moves so quickly, but once you get it down, it's actually very fun.

I worked at El Pollo Loco part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced environment, Good pay ($9/hr cashier), nice coworkers, i had a really nice manager, and free food.

    Cons

In the beginning there was a lot of work to do, as the new kid you have to do pretty much all the cleaning, on top of learning the job itself. But once you get the hang of it, it gets easier. It is a lot of work for little pay, but it is better than most fast food companies. And quite a few racist customers.

    Advice to Management

Dont tell the new employee to do EVERYTHING.
