Pros
The Elara office team is supportive, understanding, and communicate well... As a parent the flexibility is incredible... If you are ever uncomfortable to attend to a client (not everyone gets along or some can be combative or you are not comfortable with a task for that client) or in thier home (conditions aren't always perfect or they need other services you are not able to provide) they will not make you stay with that client as there are many clients all over thier coverage area at any given time... communication is key to being successful here...to both the office and the clients Trainings for certain tasks are offered, and encouraged Many many different fields within the company are available to work... Opportunities for promotions/raises per performance and client satisfaction. If you or have immediate family in your home that are sick they want you to stay home so as not to pass it to clients as many are elderly and are susceptible to sickness and infection... If you cannot make it to your client or at the scheduled time or have to leave early call the office and talk with your client and it can be rescheduled, moved, or titration into another day you have more time to stay...
Cons
Not every client is nice... Not every client lives alone.. Not all client homes or clients are organized, neat, clean, or sanitary (it's your job to help with that to an extent) Not every client will have the exact same tasks...so check your app!!! Some clients will have transportation some don't... but you must take training to do so... driving a client without company approval is a HUGE NO! Don't let your client talk you into breaking the rules! You MUST follow the rules and protocols you sign a contact for if you have questions call the office!!! If you don't communicate with the office and clients you won't last at this company... Must have a phone with good internet as the app is required for clocking in and out and specific client tasks... You must have your own vehicle (*as you required to drive to clients homes, grocery shopping, some have to use laundromat, or other errands they can't do on thier own)

Pros
Remote culture cameras not required
Cons
Service line president of Behavioral Health has no experience in BH, Business Development, or home care. Worse, has no desire to learn from others. He treats people poorly, is egotistical, and lacks empathy. Has no business being in a position of power within healthcare and has no respect for people working underneath him. Everything was a “show” for the higher ups. Big manipulator and user of fear tactics. Created a horrible culture since his arrival. Upper management in BH lead with their emotions. Anger outbursts, the silent treatment, public shaming are the norm. Overall poorly behaved “professionals” pretending they know what they’re doing but have no management experience or leadership training. Operations and Business Development play the “blame game” constantly.

Pros
Flexibility Contributes to the community Allows for learning new skills New training program that is great
Cons
Leadership asks you to creat reports based off of reports that they have access to. Taking time away from your duties. To many meetings about meetings. A lot of contradicting messages. High turn over in upper management. Lower pay than competitors

Pros
We Care Where You Are is our motto...and its embedded into the DNA of who we are as an organization. Each manager, director, VP, etc - they take an earnest interest in you as an employee and a person. You are cared for and respected. Elara has the benefit of being a very large company...but with approximately 100 branches across 17 states. You get the security of working for a large organization paired with the intimacy of working with a small "neighborhood" team.
Cons
No downsides to share at present.

Pros
Great team, dedicated, educated, experienced nurses and staff. Good pay. HQ seems to listen to nurse concerns for charting fixes.
Cons
Oasis charting system has too many duplicate entries and lacks data driven info for education and next visit steps, and HQ is too slow to improve charting. You would need to click very deep through the chart in different places to locate last visit education status (it’s manual entry so there’s no chart or table deliverable to show you patient comprehension status) to aid in focusing next visit and there’s no auto populate on things to do for next visit from your current visit charting - but it’s a requirement to have legitimate next visit needs noted for audit.

Pros
Although it's mostly bittersweet, the amount of love that I witness is amazing. It's very rewarding to help people at such an intimate time of life. Managing people is also rewarding when the completely understand the gift of hospice. Love the ah-ha moments.
Cons
Lots of charting with deadlines for the staff. Corporate is heavily involved.
