I have been working at Elbit Systems of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work / Life balance is a 5 out of 5
Working Environment is a 5 out of 5
Communications up and down the chain is a 5 out of 5
Sense of Accomplishment / Acknowledgement of Performance is a 5 out of 5
Work Schedule Flexibility and OFF EVERY OTHER FRIDAY is a 5 out of 5
Compensation at start is a 3 out of 5 (middle of the road)
Advancement Opportunity 5 out of 5 (encourages to learn and seek promotion, advancement in your career)

From the interview process, through onboarding to the day to day of the company, everyone has been helpful, welcoming and willing to take time to share information and knowledge. The Talladega facility is where I am stationed, and the crew here is professional and personable. The in house recruiter / talent acquisition group from Ft Worth was extremely helpful in the pre-employment interviewing phase, and the time between application, two rounds of interviews and hiring was around 8 weeks, which in my opinion is a great timeline.

    Cons

Learning the lingo / jargon (ESA terminology) is challenging, but several employees have offered acronym lists that help.
The facility is difficult to navigate at first, but once you learn the areas, it is no a problem.

    Advice to Management

Add some visual information to your NHO packet (Facility layout with areas marked mainly).

I worked at Elbit Systems of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

9-80 work schedule. flexible hours (to an extent), on-site cafeteria, 401k match, decent benefits, team members were good people to work with and talk to. Some training options available for job growth, although slow to be adopted (ie months or years)

    Cons

Unclear deadlines, lack of communication (sudden terminations without warning to team members), lack of consistency between departments, hourly work requirements (tasks managed to the minute), emphasis on direct labor vs indirect expenses. Felt more like an hourly employee with a salary, especially when on a tight deadline - limit comp. time gained.

Budget, budget, budget! Even when doing approved activities, such as the various training or job growth activities available, note that this is on your time. If it is not offered online and outside of work, expect to not be approved, even if you have been approved in the past. They will assign training budgets elsewhere.

Be warned - even if there seems to be positive information provided in reviews, and tasks are completed regularly, do not expect the department to answer questions upon sudden termination. Also, if a project is behind schedule, despite the department/employees at fault, the budget takes priority over employment!

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your employees, and listen to feedback - goal setting is a good process, but lack focus and consistency, despite the metrics.
