I have been working at Elco Administrative Services Company full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, work life balance and you are part of Enterprise Holdings, an organization that truly cares about their employees. Great down to earth management that listens and cares. Cushy Desk Job.

    Cons

The pay is on the bottom end of the industry average (hourly). They throw you in the fire, (and arent always avaliable to help). Extremely (almost unrealistically) high volume claims pipeline, and alot of moving parts. This is a relatively young department of the business so there are not many opportunities for advancement. Must be willing to relocate if you want to get into management.

I have been working at Elco Administrative Services Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Its a great company to start at to get claims/ risk management experience. You learn everything from property damage and bodily injury claims. Completing total loss instead of another department handling this like many insurance companies have.

    Cons

Low pay compared to claims rep./adjs. with other organizations.

I have been working at Elco Administrative Services Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They're are no pros other than the fact this job is 40 hours; Monday through Friday. Occasionally you can leave early and paid holidays are better than the retail branches.

    Cons

Where to begin? New employees receive no real benefits other than the typical health care package after a few months. Time off is given to you after 1 year of service. In this particular office, it is smoke and mirrors and a complete trap from what is said in the interview. This office is a joke with managers who are nasty and a regional manager who acts like a dictator. They are so far removed from the adjusters that the environment is an "us versus them" mentality. There is no leadership and management is always criticizing your work. Promotions are few and far between and not easily attainable. Want to apply for a position within Enterprise Rent-a-Car? Too bad, you can't. Management will make sure they find a way for you to stay in claims. So forget trying to broaden your horizons in other departments. This job primarily deals with you cleaning up what the rental branches screwed up. You're not dealing with any policy holders who are stand up citizens, your dealing with the degenerate customers that somehow managed to rent a vehicle and they later cause an accident that turns into a fiasco. A good majority of the team has low authority levels which means your manager/supervisor has to review the claim and grant the authority. You have to wait until they review the file whenever they decide to get to it. And when you do finally get the file back, you will get it back with nasty, condescending remarks that make you feel like you're failing. There is no real training and leadership lacks completely. Revolving door. People constantly leaving, and hiring people outside of Enterprise Holdings seems to be difficult. Most people hired are internal employees from the rental branches looking to get out of sales or stress associated in the rental branches. ELCO is more of the same. Once you start here, you will realize you made a mistake because there is no training and you're treated horribly. The only training provided is one week at corporate learning some basic claim info. It's a joke. Policies and guidelines are not solid or consistent. Each supervisor will tell you to do things differently from the other. Try to think outside the box and your reprimanded for it. Technology is out of date. Still using paper files when other companies are all electronic and allow their employees to work from home. There is no training on their systems and you'll have to learn on your own or rely on other adjusters to help you. Time off. When you actually want to take PTO or vacation, be prepared to fight for it because management has to have a meeting to discuss if it is appropriate or not even if you're giving advance notice. Very rigid at ELCO and not friendly at all. All of this coupled with a toxic office environment with miserable employees makes this a company you do not want to work for.
