I have been working at Elder Care Alliance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This place is the real deal! Elder Care Alliance is a not-for-profit organization truly committed to its mission and vision. Deeply rooted values are expressed in specific ways by employees at all levels every day. It's clear that the organization takes caring for people way beyond what's typical - a sense of urgency exists to support employees, residents, family members and the broader community to the greatest extent possible. What also sets this organization apart is the desire to help each individual achieve a sense of Purpose. Programs and policies are unfolding to help accelerate this priority.

    Cons

I can't think of any cons...this is the best place I've ever worked. This is a truly special organization.

    Advice to Management

Leadership at Elder Care Alliance is superb. From the seasoned Executive Directors, Directors and Managers in the communities to the leadership the Support Center, Elder Care Alliance is chock-full of smart, committed leaders. Maintaining a steady commitment to the mission, vision and social justice heritage of the organization will help Elder Care Alliance continue to be a role model in senior living - and a key influencer in transforming the field of aging.

I worked at Elder Care Alliance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Been working since the age of 14 and I'm almost 50 now and never worked for a company that was blaitinly prejudice.

    Cons

If not the right race, it's very difficult to get ahead

    Advice to Management

Either retire, (which at their ages they should) or learn how to treat every employee with the same respect, no matter, what color or sexual orientation.

I worked at Elder Care Alliance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They help senior citizens with assisted living and memory care facilities.

    Cons

    They are chronically understaffed.
Their new focus is money and not people.
The environment is incredibly high stress causing turnover and the best employees to leave.
The CEO as lost her moral compass and is focused solely on cost reduction and consolidating power.
CFO has extremely poor management skills

    Advice to Management

The new CEO should model her stewardship on the previous CEO (Jesse Jantzen) otherwise she will run the company into the ground.

    Pros

Clean, modern facility, with the latest in decor.

    Cons

Communication and inclusion between upper Management and staff was sparse. This separation made non-management staff feel left out & unappreciated.

    Advice to Management

Make a point to include all staff when possible, to promote unity, trust & to build morale.

    Pros

Believes in developing current staff; holds people accountable; provides lots of learning opportunities; focuses on truly believing and living out its mission and values

    Cons

Very high expectations bordering on unrealistic; still seems to be difference in how people are treated, evaluated, and judged across different communities; those who make more get more with regards to bonuses and perks

    Advice to Management

    Set realistic expectations - nobody is perfect; treat staff equally across the board;
